We need to call Cavallino now! I emailed them about the car the car at Forza Motorsport that was for sale at 90k plus. They responded by upping their top estimate to $70k. I know that the best glass cars are more than 70k!!!!!

I do indeed have the info...

RAMMER, do you need an OEM airbox?
Was that among your "lost parts"?

He has one, new in box.
    I thought you were searching..

    Just below "six figures", Red.
    $91,500.00USD

    I got that....

We can't quite reach that, with our wet sump North American versions.

But as you see we are not "far behind"...that car in Vermont was an odd deal it WAS offered at $90K, and looked very nice in blue, then the seller decided to keep it.

    The ad disappeared.
Or, someone bought it that doesn't want to talk to us.

Neither would I, especially since I just put the 14s xwx on today.

If 150 comes my way, I may consider let mine go. i had a full mechanical restore complete in 2004...and will less than 5,000 miles since then, I suspect I'm good for a while with just belt services.

So aside from the car at Classic Coach how many cars have sold for more than $90k?

I know of a few here that have changed hands close too and above the 90 + mark. The last one I saw was a decent ( respectable by my standards) driver with a service sold for 65k plus taxes ...but had wrong paint, wrong tires, and tired looking interior. Good to drive for the next 10- 15 yrs, but on its way for a restore.

I myself spent 95 with taxes back in 2007 for a one owner family car, with warrenty card, and documentation, but mine had a fresh restore in 2004 with engine , suspension ,brakes and on and on to the tune of almost 35k back then by the second owner.

For me , it was a deal , I rather drive my cars down, than buy cheap, spend money and time to drive up to that dollar amount.

I am sure when a 308 Vetroresina goes for more than 100$ on a big auction (Gooding, RM) the floodgates are open for much more...

    And, 90.000,-- EUR are about 117.000 US $ !

That was my fiberglass GTB. It's starting a new life as a collector's car and the new owner will have it Classiched at Classic Coach. It will certify easily. In won Best Unrestored Ferrari In Show at a regional concours in 2005. It's in perfect mechanical condition too. I'll miss that car. I've owned it for over 11 years.

It was a difficult decision to make, Gus. But it became a collector's car...and I'm not a collector. Driving it became a liability and that took the fun away.

Here's how it looked when you first saw it at The Garden State Fall Ferrari Festival years ago. There's Hutch and his GTS!

    Congratulations on the sale Barry.

$91,500 is a good price for such a rare and excellent maintained car !

If you ever get the itch, feel free to visit the great white north during June-October, I know someone(s) who may let you reminisce ;)

I hear you, Barry. I'm almost lucky in that my car is not collectable (yet, anyway), and it's scruffy enough that I never have to worry about driving it anywhere. I can imagine being worried about taking a car as special as yours was out though. I think this is still my favorite picture of your B. That was a great day!

Barry! I get were you're coming from with the move, you were holding the the rarest of 308s and having such an item makes it difficult to quantify as a 'toy' and really drive it. The 355 will be fun, so have fun.

Barry, you do know that you will now need to forget the secret “plastic” handshake. :) I hope that you will still let me tap into your knowledge of these cars? You seem happy with your decision and I’m sure the 355 toy will help in getting over your loss. Drive safe.

Let's just say that they were presented with solid evidence. I was thanked for the info I shared and they also said "this is how we stay current". I have done this before and promptly saw a bump of $5000 based on a driver that was sold at auction for $69k and featured in Sports Car Market. I hope to see $90k+ soon.

Recently I tried to up my coverage from Hagerty and they refused. I am currently covered for $55k and I was told that even 55k was too high. They made a special exception as they feel glass cars are no more than $40k. We get no respect:)
