    Awesome find, thanks for posting. I love the specs on this car but I have always thought it looks a bit ungainly in photos. How did the car look in person?

    No, I think this build actually starts with a 997...although it does look a bit like the Boxster/Cayman.

    RUF uses a 997 front clip and the rest is pretty much custom made by them. All carbon fiber body and a GT1 based twin turbo engine. Not the prettiest car I must say...especially when parked next to mine...

    Its based off the 987 Cayman.

    Excellence :: Ruf CTR3 : Ruf CTR3

    "The CTR3 uses the forward unibody of a 987 Cayman instead of the 997’s similar frontal structure because the 987 floorpan is set up for a mid-engine application."

    Press releases said it starts life as a Cayman, but the vast majority is custom Ruf.

    And the CTR3 is better looking, theres a large list of cars better looking than the Veyron, but that ain't one of them. The CGT on the other hand..........

    Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Taste is a matter of taste. There is no right or wrong where personal taste is involved.

    IMVHO the best looking Porsche today is the Boxster (harkens after the old 550 Spyder) and the Cayman. Never have been a fan of the 911.

    I realize, I just enjoy stirring the pot when the Veyron is involved. The new Boxster is too big IMO, the styling of the new boxster in the size of the original would be perfect.

    Also, that first picture makes no sense to me, wouldn't the jack that he is using be kept up in front?

    Interesting, I distinctly remember reading an article in R&T when this car was released and they mentioned that the car started life as a 997. As Jerome has said, R&T stated that Ruf used the front clip of a 997 and fabricated a custom rear end for the car.

    Yeah, maybe he's not having engine trouble at all, after all don't believe all of the internet BS regarding M97 issues. Perhaps he had a flat, he's leaking brake fluid, his battery went kaput, his CD changer is broken, or he's out of washer fluid...although the jack wouldn't help explain the latter three but neither would engine issues...LOL

    No contest on looks. You have the "complete" car. And I like the RUF.

    I saw this same car when driving a few weeks ago in north Salem. Pretty cool car but definitely overpriced in for what you get IMHO.
