'89 560SL with 32K mi when I bought it, all original, never driven in rain (the underside almost made my mechanic cry for joy), soft top has been up 4 times (plus pulling it out partially to check condition - factory new), etc. First thing I did when I left his house was new tires to replace the very old (possibly original) tires, before hitting the road home. About 2/3 way down: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/139504080-post81.html Dave T has (or had, at the time) a 100pt restored late '50s Cadillac that he let me drool (not literally, but I was close) all over. He oversaw every step of it, and still had culled parts from the process that had nothing discernible wrong, but just weren't up to his standard for his car. He had a few similar spares for the SL, "just in case". Absolutely loves cars.
hey guys, please join me in reporting this scammer to youtube topgeartvseries Ferrari - YouTube here ^^^ is his youtube page, with multiple videos, each have disabled comments, but, you CAN report as scam/fraud what I've done, is click on each video advertisement of his, click on the flag icon, select "spam or misleading", then select "scams/fraud" ....in the box which appears, I have been typing the following: then click submit ...if several of us did this on each of his videos, than likely could have his subscription blocked Thanks!

A friend has a 1991 build, "Modena" California Spyder. I've never heard of this, but apparently this company (Modena) made about 30 of these fairly detailed replicas but was forced to cease production after they were chased off the job by Ferrari's potent legal team. Anyone know anything about these cars?(I've never seen this car, but she wants to sell it. From the little iPhone photos I saw, it looked pretty nice.) thanx steve
Hi Steve Some weeks ago, i had an european auto magazine, there was a "dealer" who offered the possibility of a remake of the 250 Cali SWB on base of a Ferrari 250 GT. I will try to find it. I believe, the magazine was from UK, called "classic and sports cars". Daniel
The "Modena Spider" 250GT SWB California Spider replica your talking about is the fake car used in Ferris Buehlers Day Off. You see them on Ebay fairly often. I doubt there were only 30 made. Most have a Ford V8. I have seen some that looked pretty darn good and others that were a mess. None of them are all that accurate nor did they really make any effort to be. They were more of a "modern interpretation" for fun than any sort of effort at an exact replica. Terry
Absolutely correct. Three years ago I completed a rolling chassis of one which I got from Classic cars by Renucci.Mine is not a "Modena" and the body mold appears to be a considerable improvement over the "Modena" particularly from the windshield forward. I have a number of period parts, [not necessarly Ferrari parts though the seats are out of a 1960s 250 GTE] included. However I have made sure there is no real effort made to fool the trained eye that this is a real 250 California. tongascrew
Regardless of the quality, I wonder if the seemingly unusual RI registration would be a problem. s (disclaimer: I know nothing about RI tags or registration)
Tacky as hell, but the prettiest feature on the entire car. WTF is that supposed to "replicate," anyway? Seen at the Lamborghini dealership, no doubt.
Here are two replicas I've spotted. I thought I had a photo of another 365GTB replica that was local at a dealership, but I think I never took a photo. =( Saw this on I-78 two years ago coming back from a Supra meet in PA. Saw this Fiero in Brooklyn last year. And one that's been on craigslist for a few months. If it were white, I would totally buy it. lol The front end looks somewhat accurate. 1986 turborossa chevrolet
