I'm pretty sure both cars have the 6.0 engine...the 7.0L was damaged during dyno testing & never fixed as far as I know...

ok that jives, Issac mentioned the "blowing intake off" incident, but I haven't read anywhere it was damaged more, just that it was a one-off

this is a photo of the 'new' WX-8 ...so is basically the W8 chassis, and a 'top heavy' twin supercharged V8 (old school SBC) with the same 3 speed automatic transmission ...honestly, I can't see GW getting many investment interest jumping, with now outdated drivetrain

I'm not sure if it was damaged more than that, but I don't think it was ever fixed & reinstalled.
That new car he is working on looks great, but the engine is crazy with that supercharger setup! The 3 speed trans wouldn't be a good choice today...just never know what it could end up with though. It's too bad he didn't have more to work with...there hasn't been an update on this for quite some time...

given how many years it took to get investment of the original W2 concept, and his rather long development times, I would be surprised to see much come of the WX-8 honestly ....however, he is doing what he loves, and the Vector supercar is known worldwide, so that's cool!
(ps. I have an interesting build coming to the AF forum on this subject ;) )

    Shucks. ;)

I just recieved the June/july 1996 issue of sports car international. Feature article on the stars & stripes M12...sounds like the first look at an M12. I didn't realise how much lighter than a Diablo the M12 was. 4354 vs 3590 lbs.
Kind of a shame the weren't built a bit better...

I've still never seen one in person, so I can't speak to the build quality, but they were all built by hand, and not necessarily by "craftsman" i'm guessing, still i'm always surprised by how many fans there are, given the car was built in such small numbers!

here's a pic of the S&S M12 door GVW tag, says 4100lbs, still is nearly a couple hundred pounds less than a Diablo

Interesting...quite a difference from the magazine article.
Build quality on the M12's is notoriously bad, with vents in the dash popping out etc. It's been called the worst exoticar ever built...however, it seems that its performance was very good & its looks are fantastic

    Thank you all...

i don't want to realize the 012 Yellow one, because i prefer to realize my favorite W8 models. And the 0012 yellow one, isn't my favorite model...

It's difficult to find a 1/18 Ricko today... It's rare.... I have an original W8 ricko full stock, but i want to rebuilt it in first W8 body again (like my PP2 model)
My next, i think it will maybe the 006 w8 model or the 009 (purple one)... I'm not sure what i want to make now...

But the 06 was the first Vector i seen in 1993... it was incredible souvenir...

It's for that i love this one... BBUUTTTTTT the Purple One it's incredible color for this incredible supercar...

    It's difficult to choice it......

The center of gravity on that thing is like a skyscraper

Why is the engine tranverse ?

It needs a carbon tub to be taken seriously today

The engine is a mock up set in; it is a Marine powerplant in origin.

Carbon tubs are great, but not necessary IMO to make a great street car, and not necessary to make a great race car.

The transverse mounting reduced the wheel base, and also the torque forces aid in giving the car more traction; counter-balancing acceleration forces lifting the front of the car under load. The downside is the drive line/transmission options are diminished.

What it needs to be taken seriously today is all sorts of electronic nannies that control everything ;)

all true, I think also it was basically because of the transaxle choice, the TH425 & the way he arranged it the engine set in transverse
I think JW is a bit outdated in his thinking for the WX-8 concept, the styling & drivetrain are certainly outdated ....but eventually someone, somewhere will buy one or two probably

I rather like the transverse layout. The TH425 would not be a good (modern) choice. I think the 7.0L dohc 4 valve engine with modern ECU would be the way to go...perhaps with updated intake system. Although imho everything is up in the air with this car & could change. Money is the problem...but with Jerry, ya just never know!

LOL I was just thinking, looking at the WX-8 pic above ^^ that might actually be the W2 chassis from mothballs he's using there? the differential mount isn't even attached ....it's possible?

As far as I know, last time I was at Jerry's HQ there was the W2 chassis sitting on an storage.
The WX appeared with its body and engine, but only as a mockup ( non functional ).
I asked him to restore the W2, but the Donovan engine is no longer at Jerry's, the led's display has been lost and other pieces spred along the preseries w8's.
When I was 10 I fell in love with the dark green w2 and its led display.
Does anybody know where the center console gps display came from?
Jerry installed it in the late 80's along with the code keyboard.

David Kostka told me it was him who made the horizontal bar graph dash for the W2 and he could always make another one in the very same design any time if it came to restoring the original W2.

I would love to see that car being brought back to the 1985 silver design with the big wing.
That was the design I fell in love with back in the days.

It would be difficult to chose which iteration of the W2 to restore to. I really like it as the original white version and the final preproduction version...
