Does anyone know how much weight is saved with the racing seats compared to the fully electric seats? If there are previous posts on this, I apologize in advance.

That's what I understand. HOWEVER, a lot of that is savings from the electric motor and mechanism. I don't think it's as much from the standard seats without electric assist.

The Racing seats are completely manual.

I do believe though that the racing seats are stronger and flex less under stress. They may also be a little lower and the side bolstering is deeper. So, the advantage is not just weight.

Thank you. One of these days I am going to take my 458 to a friend of mine's scrap yard and weigh my car. I am curious.

In general, a fully electric luxury seat is about 50~60 lbs each.

A manual carbon seat is about 20~30 lbs each.

That should give you an idea of the total weight savings.

According to Ferrari's own website, they listed savings of 4kg. Weight savings being thrown about are vs full power seats, not standard manual seats. So, calculate accordingly.

Ferrari should weigh in every option you can add to the 458 during the build process so that it shows an exact figure of your car weights when you add/remove options.

This should be easy to implement, at least for the scud version it can be fun, not to wallet.

If you don't track your car, does anyone on the street drive hard enough to notice 50 pounds? That's less weight than many f-chatters need to lose personally.

This thread begs the question that how much is the weight savings with sport rims vs standard rims?

Once again I suspect the answer is too trivial to be noticeable while driving. But sport rims look better as do the racing seats. But this is subjective after all.

To loosely paraphrase Lotus' design philosophy, Ferrari could charge extra to option in the lightness. ;)

99% of us wouldn't notice the weight of another passenger in the car let alone weight savings with the seats and wheels.....

I don't care what my car weighs. I am just curious. If my car weighs 200b Lbs. more or less, it will make no difference in my driving pleasure. I do not track my car. I just drive it on beautiful days and think how lucky I am to have such a fabulous e car.

It is much easier to buy -50 lbs then to lose it from your own body :)

might slightly be OT but can the CF racing seats be purchased from Ferrari and retrofitted in a 458 that currently has standard seats? If so, im assuming the CF seats can be ordered with the same contrast stitching currently?

What sort of cost are we looking at?
