I am a first F time car buyer and in the market for a F430. However there seems to be so many of these cars on the market, over 300 on Cars.com alone.

Why are there so many on the market? Will I take a big hit when I try to sell mine in 2-3 years?

    Spring selling period.

Also, a lot of trade ins.

Actually, from what I've seen over the past year, F430 prices haven't really dropped much aside from mileage and condition. In 2010-12, they dropped a lot more.

Will the they drop a lot more? Who knows. Probably. But, that means everything below them must drop also. At some point everything becomes about the same price. That doesn't make any sense.

But, put it this way. If you buy a new Cadillac it will drop in resale dollars more than the F430 in three years. It's all relative.

Honestly, if you're worried about resale value, this car may not be for you. One accident and you'll lose more in resale in a day than you will in a year.

There are so many because there are probably close to 20.000 F430 worldwide. Historically the US accounts for close to 25% of the prod, so there should be close to 5000 F430s in the US.

In 2-3 years the 458 replacement will be out so a lot of 458s will hit the used market and that will drive 430s price down as people with 430 will upgrade to used 458 so there is a good chance the 430 will continue to drop. I wouldnt be surprised to see Coupes selling for <$100k in 2/3 years.

Knowing that there is that much offer out there, against a steady or low demand in my opinion, this spring and summer, if looking for a 430, It is a buyers market.
A reasonable offer should be able to get you what you want. Be patient and do your homework. When you find the car, play the game with your rules. If not successful, move to the next car. Is your money !!!

Market forces will set the price.... Good luck !!!

I think this is a reasonable assessment, with the caveat that I don't necessarily agree that demand is "low." There are enough macro conditions to make cases in favor of getting an F430, so it's probably just a little bit of a lag between the start of the selling season and the majority of the buyer activity. The imbalance in supply/demand does appear to be related to the inception of the selling season. Buyers tend to be a little more lazy than sellers in this case.

Agree 100% that you pay what you reasonably can for the car you desire, and if the seller won't deal, move along. It does appear to be a buyer's market.

...(rapidly typing) but the 360 is still the better supercar bargain and I'm happy I just bought one....... (maybe I'll get away with that comment under the radar).

360 is an amazing machine and really fun to drive ,but I'm sure you'll want to upgrade in the future as I am in about a year. My mind is made up and have been researching 430 with 6speed! I really miss 6speed!

I'm hoping I can get one in the 100s in a year.

i'm surprised 430 prices have held up as well as they have. there's a much larger spread in pricing between the 360/430 than say the 355/360. I'm guessing this is due to the fact that the 430 got such a large power bump. I think 430s will keep coming down to the 100k mark in the next 1-2 years and will hold there for a long while.

Doubt that. Maybe an 05 or 06 with a ton of miles. You would be hard pressed to find a really nice 04 360 for much less than that.

I would figure 10 to 15K per year depending on how many miles you put on it.
