Thinking an M1 would make a nice addition to the stable. How many in USA ? How difficult to import ? What is the model w the wing & flares ? Thanks Image Unavailable, Please Login
The one you have pictured is an M1 Procar and not a street version. IIRC, someone did take their road version and put a big wing and flares on it, but stuff like that dings the value over originality. The actual race cars (Procars) command a lot of money.
Sadly I know nothing about this car except it is a beautiful design and I want one You have got to love this forum. There is always someone who knows the answer like this gentleman. Lee
a couple of prior threads on the wonderful M1! http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/general-automotive-discussion/363063-bmw-m1-best-car-world.html http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/general-automotive-discussion/395186-my-m1-motortrend-magazine.html using the fchat search function, it only took an entire hour to find them!
I've seen that car for sale before, or maybe it's still? being actual AHG modifications isn't a detraction, so that's good
I've driven a few M1s. They are great cars and values are starting to catch up, unfortunately. Prices in Europe are higher than here, so importing is probably not a good option. As always, find one that's factory original, with all the books, tools, etc. Stay away from modified cars unless you can reach for an authentic ProCar, best of breed. Ed Waterman has sold a few M1s, so check with him...he's right up the road in FLL.
That is an old picture of my car . It is a procar and there were 40 produced. BMW made 399 street cars, over 50% of them are Inca orange. I would try and find a US car if i was you as they are more money in EU and creeping up very fast .Expect to pay between 200k to 250k for a good car and i have not seen any good ones for sale for a while. The blue one in NY used to be a press car, has been for sale for a while now and there must be a reason why it has not sold as Motorcar Gallery in F lauderdale had it on it's site a year ago for 195k along with 3 other M1's and they all sold quickly except for this one.
