Just spotted this one again, this time parked on the street in the centre of Launceston last night. Again, if anyone knows anything about this car I'd love to know more about it. Lambos are so rare here! Off to see the Whites whiz around the Longford Targa stage in their Super Trofeo on Thursday, which is about the only Lamborghini regularly seen in these parts!
If the owner does happen to read this - nice car BTW!

I think I already posted something about this car? Was I right? Was that the one?

    Yes saw your reply thanks.

I could never find the posts you were referring to on other sites. I was hoping the owner or someone else associated directly with this particular car might come here from time to time. Actually there is a guy that lives here in Tasmania who does appear to post on this site from time to time. His name is Wayne Clark and he's currently racing in Targa Tasmania. Mr Clark, if you happen to eventually read this, am I to believe you have a Miura S or have I got my wires crossed?

Yeah, Wayne has a Miura S - I thought I had sat in it many years ago but alas not. He is most often found in the 400 section given he owns a tribe of them!

I had a lengthy discussion with the wife about this one back in 08 - she was just not a fan. To her it was an Islero or nothing!! She's a good woman..

I am going to covert my SIII Auto to manual in a few weeks. I had bought a manual gearbox some years ago.
As I understand it the main things are:

    Different propshaft.
Diff gearing is different ( leaving as auto for more relaxed touring)
Exhausts/Manifolds wider, so can remain the same
    Pedal box for 3 pedal
Slave and master cylinders for clutch
Width of front footwell narrower on auto so less foot room with 3 pedal
    Flywheel different
Engine tuning/timing to be altered to manual

Any one done it this way? I know manual to auto is harder as the space is different.

I will have the car with a specialist, but looking for problems before we start.

    Hi,
I could buy a early S3 Espada without engine/carburetors but with gearbox.
The car stays very long in a garage about 10years. It´s an original spain delivery car and it was repainted from rosso granada to creme white. The Interior is complete original.
The odometers shows approx 73.000km. The owner told me that the car has some years ago (1981) a small crash on the rear left side, the fender was redone.

How much costs a S3 engine with carburetors and how much do you would pay for that car?

    Best Regards
    Leo

So what happened to the engine that you can't re-marry it to the car?

Depending on the condition US10k -15k for the car.

An untouched motor needing work under 10k.

A motor fresh one ready to go in 25-30k.

The reason for those prices is that there will be a boat load of labor to get this car road going.

But let Bob and Gary give you a better idea.

    Run Forest run.

You can undoubtedly do much better starting with another car.

Finding anything for these cars that's not the garden variety mechanical parts like brake, clutch and some engine stuff now being reproduced is going to be very difficult and silly expensive. If you need to hear it from someone directly talk with Gary. He started with a very complete car that didn't look all that bad and had a lot of engine work already done.

I'll let him describe what came next. Here's a hint. His customized license plate is LIRAPIT.

He now has a beautiful example. I don't think he regrets his project at all. He knew going in it was going to be stupid expensive.

Stupid is as stupid does. I'm on a Forest Gump bent today ... :D

This picture was taken at the 50th anniversary gathering in Italy last week. I was told this Espada was sold the same day for 250 k Euro, I kid you not.

S1 prices rise step by step.Good cars are expensive because of the high restoration costs!

  20. Google up Ron White, the comedian. It's from his act on changing a woman. Funny stuff.

Well that price in the current market is completely nuts so I'd be quite skeptical of that report but what was the condition of the car. It's very hard to tell from such limited an low resolution pictures. I could easily see some one sinking 150K euros or more into a no excuses restoration with an expensive shop.

If someone paid me 250k for an Espada, the guy would lose his arm in the process of me taking the money so fast that he'd still be gripping the bills! VERY hard to believe that someone wasn't, well, "enhancing" the truth.

Well I didn't see the invoice, let alone the payment. Fact is the car looked like it had just left the factory

Decimal place error? Nah, if the car is even half way nice it would be well north of 25K euros.

    But here's hoping! ;)

Didn't man to imply you were enhancing the truth. Sellers or buyers do that all on their own.
