Wassup guys, my friend and I have a wedding to go to and it's about an hour away so I'm bringing the 360 spider and he is bringing his done up NSX, I jus bought a Go Pro camera and want to film our drive but I am not comfortable putting the suction cup on the body of my car, but I want to put it close to the back as possible so u can hear the exhaust. Putting the cup on the body does it do any harm, I don't want a ding, I'm very anal, thanks, I am hoping to post it on here after the drive.

It's perfectly safe (I'm very anal myself) just take precautions to make sure not only the suction cup is clean and the surface it is going to mount to as well. Do not allow it to stand tall if its on a large surface panel (like the hood) because with wind it will leverage and possibly warp the panel.
I choose surfaces that are flat and not large so there is no chance of deflection on the panel.
If you want to be absolutely safe, attach it to glass. Just make sure your wipers clear.

For the rear to capture the exhaust sound it gets tricky, you do not want to expose the back opening to airflow or you will have a lot of wind noise.

Here's a quick one I slapped together. Need to do a new one next chance I get

I put the suction cup on the back of my Stradale when I was at Road Atlanta. No chance of damage to your car.

It depends on how good your sealant or wax is protecting the paint finish. You are applying pressure with the device but it is admittedly small and lightweight.

I was not allowed to window mount, so mounted on passenger side roll hoop, tethered to screw on back ledge. Worked perfectly.

Your video is awesome. I love the hood shot with the reflected canopy! For those of you who didn't know this drive is really special. The only thing wrong with it is that it could be 10 times longer!

I have been meaning to make a mount for a camera that fits into the holes for the wind deflector on a spider. Have to get around to that.

Could be a good application for a drumstick and a threaded flange?

Kevin, thanks for the positive feedback!
Yes, 10x plus would be awesome :)
Looking to make my way to Stelvio Pass in the near future. Looks to be like Tantalus without the greenery ;) Aloha

Was that the standard gopro suction cup mount, just on a dusty surface?

Yes, standard suction cup on a dirty surface (dirt and salt).
