Good to see some new blood at the pointy end of the Indy field. I'm sure no one would lament Carpenter's well deserved pole position or if he or another fresh face would win the race. Anyone but Ganassi or Penske. BHW
I will speak my mind as I see fit. Don't like my opinon....tough. Get used to it because unlike you....I pay for the privledge. NEXT!!
You pay for the privilege to what is in my opinion a sad, sad existence in my book. Me? Instead of living in negativity and despair, I'm off to the track to watch actual race cars on an actual track. The sky is blue in my world. Get used to it because I actually live my life, follow IndyCar and speak from actual knowledge and fact. Next!
Quali on and Vautier impressive. Good news for Katherine to get her chance.....Buddy and Conor under 223...
Being a big fan of the indy 500, I hope we dont again touch the 34 vying for 33 scenario any time soon. We definitely dont want bump day to become as inapt as carb day.
amazing that Rahal and Jourdain couldn't figure the car out...sad for Michel. looks like the field is set, looking forward to the race!
The Andretti's of course. Unsers maybe? Vukovich? Got to look this up. I did hear the Donald today say Buddy Lazier is the only 500 winner who's dad also drove in a 500 and did NOT win.
Can I take the prize I won and exchange it for what is behind door # 2 were Carol Merrill is now standing Monty???
This year's race program pays tribute to the seven men who have won more that 1/2 of the races in the past half century. Incredible feat. Foyt 4 A Unser 4 Mears 4 Rutheford 4 Franchiti 3 Castroneves 3 B Unser 3
What a list. Amazing - and gutting - that the Andretti's aren't on that list. Is it me - or does it seem like the 500 is starting to get some it's magical 'aura' back? Maybe it's the high speeds, but I can feel an excitement for this race that I haven't felt in year's. Even Will Buxton is supr excited Kevin
It is getting some of it back. I went last year and it was much better than when I attended and actually worked for the track ops guys for the weekend. You can feel it. Momentum is building again for this race. Some really good drivers and stories working thier way back into the news. Slowly they turned...
I will be handing the winning driver a custom Bohlin and company belt buckle (indy 500 engraved) on monday after the race, i missed my chance to 2 years ago because i decided to sleep in instead. I never got to meet Dan.
I believe it is generating more interest this year due to the lack of domination from teams owned by Chip and Roger. However, I think Power and Helio must be the heavy favourites.
Count on it. It dosent really matter what happens in qualifying at Indy. The Ganassi and Penske boys have all the strategy angles figured out weeks before they get to the track. They'll be contending for the win regardless of their so-so qualifying performances. Still though, it will be better to see a new name in victory lane this year. Any of the top three qualifiers would be great and lets not forget Sato. BHW
I don't know if it is the cars themselves but I can't remember an Indy qualifying and practice with as few incidents.
exactly. ganassi was nowhere on the speed charts last year (even through qualifying) and when the end of the race came, they were both up front... Penske has had a few tough years, last year two of their three cars were taken out of contention in the same wreck. but they'll be strong on race day for sure. would be nice to see Ed, Marco and Graham battling for the lead at the end
A few pics from Pole Day. Great livery on Jordain's ride, but too bad they could not find any speed in this thing. Image Unavailable, Please Login
