I had never noticed this before, but once you know it's there it's the first thing you notice when looking at a picture of an F50 now. And today I've just found this thread which is of the marconi museum in tustin CA. See link for pics. But the F50 has clear indicators/ turn signals and no level marker in the headlight does that mean this F50 is a euro car if so why not a usa spec car, or does this car get shipped around to various museums. If anybody knows that is. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/california-nevada-southern/408092-marconi-museum-tustin-ca.html
Thanks for that. Do you know if them cars are within the criteria of allowed USA cars for dot purposes or will they have to wait like the f40 now where they are hitting 25 years old, and have less constrictions. And how easy is it getting the parts for these conversions. And what happens to all the old parts. Front bumper (or are the the lip/skirt just attached to original bumper), headlights, turn signals, etc.
These are Eu cars which remain in Eu spec, here in the USA under Show & Display mandates because they are part of a museum.
F50 #103289, sold recently through the Gooding sale at Amelia Island for $1.375M, appeared at Concorso Ferrari in Pasadena, CA today. A sign on the windshield suggested it was for sale once more. >8^) ER Image Unavailable, Please Login
It drops down automatically above a certain speed. I think it was 80kmh; but it's been a few years since I sold mine. A common fault is the lift system fails to operate properly.
At the beginning of May speedracer38 photographed the car at Miller Motorcars in Greenwich, CT. See below, or hi-res available here: All sizes | Supercars Greenwich 15 | Flickr - Photo Sharing! Some car friends from India upon hearing the news have suggested to me that the F50 could not be imported to India. One writes: Maybe it is being parked in the USA for a year, but otherwise it's arrival in India remains suspect. >8^) ER Image Unavailable, Please Login
Information that it was no longer available & sold to India came to me directly from the seller at the time.
Erik, is that the same black F50? I think that black F50 has been resident on the east coast for a long time already.
Joe - I don't doubt that's what you were told. It just doesn't seem to be accurate, at least not yet, and perhaps never? Jason confirmed that it was the 55K mile F50 in a couple of his comments. Also #104799 had identical registration stickers in the windshield when we all saw it in Monterey last August: F50 | Flickr - Photo Sharing! >8^) ER Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'd assume so - I don't personally try to keep track of these. Jason shot the other one several years ago (New Jersey plate 'WK 366E') and confirmed at the time that the VIN was not 104092 or 104799 which were the two Black F50s that Carbon had record of in the USA at the time. >8^) ER
This is the other one that's in the area. Photos from the Scarsdale Concours in 2008. First photo by Darren from TS.com, second by JT obviously. >8^) ER Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
This first pair of photos seems to be #104799 again at Miller Motorcars. These pics were from March shortly after it arrived (certainly before its bath ) and show it wearing a Pennsylvania license plate. View them in high res here and here. The third shot is another of #104799 that was snapped in Monterey last August, allowing for further sticker comparison. View it here in high resolution. If the 'mystery' one with NJ plates has not recently relocated to Texas, and then returned, I can't see why it would have Texas registration stickers in the window especially ones that match the 55K mile car. >8^) ER Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
