So next month we are going to The Woodloch Lodge in Hawley, PA for our Anniversary. While everyone else is hiking and kayaking my wife and I are looking to take my new 512TR for a 2 to 3 hour drive. I have beed through Rt 97 and the Hawks Nest along the Delaware River. Can someone suggest some other nice driving roads in that area?

    Thanks
    Jeff

    Jeff,

Any road in that area are "nice driving road" as long as you stay off the Interstates. Driving along the Delaware is always great. Take a run down to the outlet stores in Lahaska, or go to New Hope. The drive north along the Delaware from New Hope is wonderful, and there are some great places to eat in New Hope or just across the Delaware in Lambertville. But from Hawley, just drive in any direction out into the country and it is absolutely beautiful.

    Hope that helps.

    Steve

p.s. Do yourself a favor and pick up a PA map from AAA, and take your GPS with you. The roads are pretty well marked, but if you really get out into the country, it is pretty easy to get lost out there.

Agree 100%. And the PA police LOVE to give out-of-staters tickets on the freeways.

Especially if you are driving a "hot" sports car. The back roads are not immune either. Be careful going through some of the small towns where the speed limit suddenly drops to 25 or 30 or 35. It's how some of those small towns make their money.

Just up the road from New Hope.
Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy a romantic polo match with your bride. And there usually are some interesting cars parked there.

7 Lakes Drive in Sloatsburg, NY. Follow it through all the small towns there. Identified as one of the best roads in the East.
