    Hi guys!

I'm visiting Germany from Canada in a couple weeks, and I am planning to stay there for about 12 days. I am landing in Frankfurt and like to start my exploration from there. Definitely planning to visit the Nurburgring as well as Mercedes and Porsche museums in Stuttgart.

Any recommendations for car related stuff? I see some amazing cars in the posts above with an F40 in a showroom but unfortunately I can not read any German and can't figure out where that is.

    Appreciate any advice,

    Thanks!

When you are in Frankfurt I would recommend the Ferrari dealer Ferrari Ulrich.

when you're in Stuttgart you should visit the Meilenwerk in Böblingen (very close to Stuttgart). The Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren and Bently dealer among some vintage dealers are located there (that's also were the F40 pic was taken).
Then there's also a Lamborghini museum/collection of the the former Lamborghini dealer Bob Forstner. He has about 15 cars on display (Miura, road legal SVR, Diablo Jota, several Countach) and usualy you can also see the former Pagani Zonda of Benny Caiola. If you're lucky there are other Pagani(s) - last time there I saw the Zonda S and an F Roadster - and also other Lambos because they still have a Lambo shop.
If you make the way down to Singen (about 1.5h from Stuttgart to the south) you can visit the Auto Salon Singen (try google for some pics) and Gohm Ferrari dealer.
In Sinsheim (also about 1.5 hours from Stuttgart but to the north) is a very nice and huge museum about cars, planes etc. called Technik Museum Sinsheim.- some pics from a Lambo meeting there should be in this thread.

In Frankfurt you should visit the Classic Stadt (as already mentioned).

hope that helps :) when exactly will you be here?

    Martin

    Hi Martin,

I just arrived in Frankfurt today, what a beautiful city! Thanks a lot for the suggestions, I will definitely make a stop at the museum and as well as Meilenwerk. I knew about Singen from a while ago, it's an amazing dealer.

I will post some photos in this thread.

    Cheers!

looking forward to your pics :)

if you're still in Frankfurt tomorrow, there might be a Lambo meeting at the Klassik Stadt in the evening.
On saturday is a big Porsche meeting at the Meilenwerk in Stuttgart/Böblingen and on sunday some Testarossas will meet there in the morning/around noon.

    have fun on your trip!

My family will be visiting Munich Thursday through Saturday from the US. Can anyone recommend a good bar where we can watch practice or qualifying? Also, we are planning to visit the BMW museum while we are there. Any other car museums in Munich worth catching?

We spent 3 days in Nurburg and drove the Ring on Sunday and Monday. What an absolutely awesome place. A place like that could not exist in the US due to our litigious society.

Also very interesting is the German Museum - biggest technique museum of the world Deutsches Museum: Deutsches Museum

But the weather forecast sounds good for the weekend. I think BMW museum and BMW World is enough with museum. :)

If you want watching cars - one of the best spots is "Maximilianstraße" in Downtown. It's only 400 m long with dead end - so every car will come back. :)

Friday and Saturday night also a good spot is the Italian Restaurant PERAZZO Autos

But our tradition is this: Beer garden - Augustiner Keller München

Or you relax at the Englisch Garden: Englischer Garten - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Enjoy your stay in our city! Have fun.

Lots of shopping in Munchen. Bought a Panerai watch from Wempe and a Gucci bag at Gucci. Was refunded full VAT on the watch and about half for the bag. Definately something to consider.

Beautiful country had a great time in the following cities, Speyer (F1 race at Hock.), Stuttgart, Novitec visit, Munchen, Berchtesgaden and Dresden.

    Enjoy your trip!!!

Hi Leute...

    Vielen Dank

Thanks to all for the advice. We ate at Augustiner Keller one night. Great time. Our hotel looked out over the Englischer Garden. We walked through part of it to catch the subway to the BMW Museum and Welt. Again, we really enjoyed them, particularly the Museum. We walked down Maximillianstrasse window shopping and car watching. We did see a 599 and assorted other cars.

Overall, we had a great time. Everyone we talked to was very friendly and helpful. Driving on the Autobahn is a dream compared to the interstate highways in the States. My older son, a test driver for a large tire company, is ready to move to Germany!

Anyone know what the German law is regarding driving a car registered in USA that is modified ?

I'd love to ship my Z06 over to play at the Ring but she is very loud and has a GT1 wing, 5 point rollbar, & is lowered

Also is a loud exhaust a problem on the Autobahn ?

    Thanks
