Has anyone adopted any or all of the available performance upgrades offered by fabspeed for the 355?

I'm interested in making some upgrades, definitely to the exhaust, headers and ecu. I'm hoping to score extra power and sound without going stage 3 capristo loud (as sexy as that sounds).

I did Fabspeed headers and cats with Capristo Stage 3. Best sounding set-up in the world.

Nice. Is the Cap 3 not too loud? Would it present any problem in an emissions test?

I'm moving back to NYC soon, so I was thinking about driving out to fabspeed to have some work done, but just want some real testimonials about their stuff. Did you do the ECU? If not, any reason? Sounds like the gains from their ECU are too good to pass up.

I have one car with full Tubi and one car with full Fabspeed...Fabspeed has much more shriek and is more F1 like without being too loud. Tubi also sounds great but much closer to stock. Both cars run great and I don't have the Fabspeed ECU upgrade, but I did the air filters which made a noticeable improvement to throttle response.

I did the Fabspeed headers and was very pleased. The workmanship was excellent...fit and finish is perfect and I had them ceramic coated. Great upgrade and will never need to do it again..

The Fabspeed headers are a great replacement for the weak factory headers not only in preventing a catastrophic engine failure but also in gaining power. The 355's that we have done with our full package have put down 315-330 whp. We offer many products for the 355 and I will be happy to assist you in making an educated decision on what parts suit your needs.

I have the Fabspeed CF airboxes, the craftsmanship is excellent and it is obvious they flow much better than the stock ones. I suggest them to all 355 owners.

I bought the intake hose kit and found it to be the exact opposite experience, but they were no hassle about a refund.

The previous owner of my car installed the Fabspeed headers. They are quite nice and alignment is very good as I have had the system apart for other repairs and everything bolts right back up.

Remember, Factory headers are 2+2 to 1 collection. Fabspeed is a 4 to 1 so it is a bit different.

Not sure why, but the previous owner did not coat them...I would suggest anyone that gets these do that.

Mine are now starting to show surface rust. Which seems odd to me since they are stainless.

Thanks for the info, please keep it coming, especially any parts you think work well more so than some parts.

I will be in touch, Evan. Should I contact the fabspeed store directly...it that easiest for you?

Could you elaborate here, Subarubrat? So I understand, you replaced the stock airboxes with the CF ones (and you liked that upgrade) but you did NOT like the red silicon hose upgrade. Why is that? Are you suggesting that other 355 owners JUST do the airboxed and leave the stock hoses, etc in place?

Also, did you remove the resonator box and install the cap plug?

    thanks for the clarification.

I didn't want to be too harsh, but mostly what you said. The CF airboxes were well made and replaced the sharp and abrupt air horns of the stock lid with a smooth large radius transition from the box to the Y hose. I ended up with the CF boxes and the stock Y hose. I did delete the intake resonator using a plug from Ricambi.

The hose kit was a generic silicone hose for the two straight pieces that link the runners, no problem there. The Y hose was just a disaster though. It was visibly distorted from the outside, and the inside picture was worse. The sides were not symmetrical and the internal passages were constricted and blocked with large flat steps in some areas, it would have been much worse than stock. I contacted them and they offered to replace or refund and the other hoses were the same so they refunded.

That Y hose is an area for improvement, and I will probably get with one of the places I have used for making complicated silicone intake pieces for forced induction cars I have had in the past. Were not looking at gains like a gruppe M intake but why not clean that area up some.
