Looking forward to see some pictures and hear the story about this car. Must be one of the first Islero GTS and the oldest one known to survive.

I agree, it is one of the oldest GTS... It was delivered 24th April 1969, so just 44 years old... is the 128th Islero produced, Blue/senape clothe & leather and still in this configuration, with Borletti air conditionning, delivered in Italy to Lamborauto. It is a 3 owners car, the 1st registered it in July 1969, the last one registered in France, he used it sometimes but it is in need a lot of work to bright again !

    Sorry Olivier,
I meant they are estimating it unrealistically high (on the other hand, this car market is out of control). They are asking much more than the car is worth in my opinion and then a whole lot more than that. It an americanism, and the implication gets lost in translation.

For your information, I know an Islero in need of full restoration sold for 85.000 € and a second one trade for a "Aston Martin DB2 barn find + an Aston Martin V8 DBS restored", both cars Worth more than 190.000 €...

in addition to that I know another one sold for 135.000 € only repainted and retrimmed.

So, I'm not surprised this one is advertised for that much !

For example, I sold a 400 GT 2+2 last year for close to 200.000 € and this monday I've seen it Under a partial restoration/finition and the current owner is considering to sell it for 400.000 €... do you believe this is more realistic ???

Well, I think there's significant difference between a 350 or 400GT and an Islero, in a lot of ways including price. I can't tell from your comment if Islero's have actually sold for that much money or if they are just asking prices. If Islero's are $200k+ cars, then any doubt as to whether we are in another car price bubble is totally without merit.

according to my research , it is not Ferruccio's personnal Islero !

He drove several, all factory cars, none registered on his name !

    Last year I sold for 200k € a 400 GT 2+2, it was the average !

An Islero was sold for 120.000 €.

In 2013, a 400 GT 2+2 is selling for 280k € up to 350k €, so there is no reason at all why the Islero will not raise in the similar % proportion !

It is very difficult to say that the quilted leather inserts are original without specific documentation. Having said that, the unusual features on this car have been there for decades and earliest recording of same hearkens from a period when nobody bothered to make these kinds of changes.

It just looks potentially "over done" which is why I asked.

It is of course waaaaay better looking now than when it left the factory.

    What's new?
