    Hi guys,

Two weeks ago I was in Maranello and hunted a bit for the LaFerrari. I found three mules but no production car yet. I just missed the yellow one, which is heavily camouflaged in black and white anyway

Full report here if you want to see everything of this day

LeMaranello Road Trip, jour 2: collection Panini, Museo Enzo Ferrari et chasse à LaFerrari à Maranello

    cheers

    Thanks for the links
Indeed here is the badge we'll have to get accustomed to. Goodby Pininfarina, the SA Aperta was a kind of kiss of death

Strange mix of upper and lower case letters in Ferrari DeSiGn badge...

The head on view of LaFerrari partially unpainted pictured here is excellent Nicolas!

Montezemolo has said that their next two cars will be Pininfarina.

Yet, I have to admit with pain in my heart that, in my eyes, the Pininfarina proposals for LaFerrari looked like crap.

Indeed the PF LaFerrari would not have been very good looking. And the BMW concept is nothing special either. Strange they are also able to show something as perfect as the Sergio at the same time.

I don't know if it is necessary to see by LaFerrari the end of the collaboration PF-Ferrari... And why not to see in Sergio the ideas for the future replacement of the 458Italia? I enjoied drawing some sketches by leaving from Sergio by modifying lights in the F12 way, some elements to make a berlinette and the result is for my part rather convincing. You should not forget also that F12 received a lot of honors for its PF signed design, Ferrari cannot be insensible.

Let's hope you are right. Ferrari seems to always show strong loyalty to their contractors but now that they have a in-house design studio, they have to use it.

As for a barchetta, it is unlikely that the complete 5 car range would be expanded with a light sportcar. Time will tell.

I can't imagine Ferrari without Pininfarina ! F12 is a masterpiece. I bet that the next california will be swiped PF! association between PF and Ferrari Design .

(je suis désolé Nicolas, j'essaie d'écrire en anglais pour que tout le forum comprenne mais Reverso a ses limites...)

Ok - call me ignorant, but I have to ask a question that most people are probably too embarrassed to ask.
Concepts like this, is this meant to represent a final product? Or a car with no a frame/front window? If it's the latter, why don't they show a completed car?

I look at this car and think, 'ok there are some cool elements here, but the car is basically incomplete and useless; how the f could you drive it'?

Not looking to start a Pininfarina/Ferrari design studio flame war, but I struggle to see the sheer beauty in this 'overall' car.

BTW - I love Pininfarina; seeing that badge on a 308 a long time ego was exotic as the name Ferrari itself. I still think of that when I see it while washing my car.

Kevin, it is obviously a show car but there are some cars on the market that have no front window like the KTM X-BOW, the Mercedes SLR Stirling Moss or the Lamborghini Aventador J. They are meant to be driven with a helmet and the Sergio comes with two helmets. You can say she is road ready. Anyway, I don't know if PF plans to build cars but if not, it would not be surprising if we would find some elements of the Sergio in future models, by Ferrari or others. Remember the Dino Berlinetta Speciale, a show car that was quite influent. Or it will remain just that, like the Mythos and others. Who knows :) ?

Concept cars are meant to drive the imagination, not necessarily be driven.

Aston Martin's CC100 Speedster concept, built for their 100th Anniversary, takes on a similar form.

All I can say is the car has an incredible stance on the road, and the sound...whoa. I probably will never see another one driving on the road ever again. Glad I got it on film :)
