    Which wires are most of you using? I need a new set. Can go with solid core as there are no digital devices on the Dino (I have Crane Cams XR700 ignition which does not have a digital processor). Or is there another better option? I'll be switching to NGK BPR7EIX plugs at the same time.

    Superformance UK offers a set of solid cores for about $60 and a set of carbon conductor leads for the same price. What's the difference? Any good sources in the USA? T. Rutlands seems to be ridiculously overpriced, and Crane Cams will not make me a custom set of Firewire wires.

    Also- any tricks for getting at the rear bank of spark plugs? Seems tight and I have big hands.

    Need them prety soon. Any suggestions appreciated.

    Carbon conductor cores are typical OEM wires used by the car industry as they are cheaper to produce than spiral wound carbon core wires, they work well but are a bit prone for breaks in the conductor core with age and vibration. Spiral wound carbon core wires as produced by NGK and others are my preference as they are robust, don't interfere with electronic equipment and the performance is quite good, but i am not aware of a manufacturer which produces red ones. NGK, Beru and other manufacturers only offer them in black or blue.

    Solid copper core wires in red sold by Superformance are fine. If you don't have an issue with interference they should be a good choice. I would choose them above the carbon conductore core wires offered by Superformance.

    I've read that the original Cavis wires in red are still available, but am not aware of a source. Apparently Cavis even offers spiral wound spark wires in the original red OEM design.

    I built a set of MSD plug wires because that is the ignition set I'm running - amazingly low resistance. They work great and easy to fab up.

    Just found out that Magnecor makes a set specific to the Dino for about $100. This is for their 8.5mm top of the line wires (they do make a 10mm set but their own catalog says that these are overkill unless it's a flat out race car). They also have sets in 7 and 8mm, but only the 8.5's are red. I just ordered a set. I'll let everyone know how they work out.

    Now I've got to find a distributor cap and rotor. Been playing phone tag with Lyle Tanner.

    Superformance UK is out of stock on the original Marelli distributor caps, but offers a reproduction cap at a much lower price. However-it appears that coil wire plug is on the lower right side (or upper left if you flip it) while the original cap has that plug on the lower left. I wonder if that is going to cause a problem with routing the wire.

    What the higher grade wires buy you is heat resilience and longevity.
    Yes, it is overkill and my MSD's are so thick that they are difficult to weave through the standard loom holders but I know they won't breakdown in hot summer temps or have those elusive insulation cracks with leakage.
