Picking up my new 348 on Thursday and I've already bought some wheels but now I need tires. I'm wondering if any of you are running some real meats on these cars and just how much tire we can fit out back. I know that yellow turbo car runs 315/30s and that's what I'm leaning towards. Any recommendations or pictures would be greatly appreciated!

    235 F and 295 R on challenge rims.

This maintains the exact same diameter as stock.

Nice! Any pics? Also what size are you running up front?

I've decided on the Toyo R888's and probably going with the 315/30s, just not sure how wide to go up front. I'll be tracking the car regularly so I want some good size up front but I don't know how big of a tire I can physically fit up there.

    See "348 wheels reference" thread.
I'm running 265/35s on front, but doesn't matter a great deal. It's the rear you gotta control.

At some point u reach diminishing returns. Too wide in back and u r just carting around more unsprung weight than necessary. Also, u don't wanna get that rubber too far from underneath the fenders. I thought 18" and 285's were about as wide as u can go without changing the offset.

265 front 315 rear but that is a stretch on very heavy front springs. a better fit is a 245 295 combo

Ended up coming across a deal I couldn't pass up on a set of 315/30's so those are on the way and I've got a set of 255/35s laying in the garage that I'm going to test fit up front first and then go from there.

would like to see some pics. with tires wider than 275 on rear.

i'm running 360 modular wheels with 275 on rear & 225 on front.

    don't think I could get 315 under there. Maybe a 285 ??

I wonder if the off set is different for the 360 modular wheels?

they are the the same width right?

So I got the 315/30 R888's mounted up and they are AWESOME. I put some 255/35 Pirelli Corsas that I had laying around on the front for now and they're awesome but occasionally catch the front fender which I can't have especially with a track day right around the corner. Ideally I would like to run a 245/35 but they don't offer the R888's in that size, pretty much either 225/40, 235/40 or the 255/35. I'll probably end up with the 225's since I don't want the extra height associated with the 235's, my only concerns are that I won't have any tire overhang to protect the wheels from potholes etc. and these wheels don't exactly grow on trees. Also I'm wondering if I'll see considerably more under-steer on track with the smaller tire, I doubt it but I'd love to hear some opinions for those with any experience.

I'll try to post up some pics for you guys tomorrow, you get just these two from this weekend to hold you over in the meantime.

That was all done by the previous owner, if you look closely you will also notice that he modified the front bumper for a little extra clearance. I'm in search of an OEM bumper that I will shave the side markers on and paint the whole thing white.

Your car looks great! What brake package is that up front?

I wouldn't worry much about understeer with the 225s.

They look sweet - and bloody wide too.... The tread pattern also adds to the effect.
