Awesome job! With all of the licensing that Harley Davidson does, they should license you to launch a line of these fridges. Excellent job.
A project on a vacation home Florida that we just finished recently and now are in the process of furnishing the space with some porcelain signs, neons and maybe an antique gas pump. A project we just finished on a home in Federal Way, Washington that was inspired by the iconoclastic brand Pan Am and features Pro Series cabinets in custom Pan Am Blue, a Pan Am neon sign, light fixtures and porcelain tiles from Italy. It may be hard to see this detail, but note the subtle blue/grey grout lines and how they tie the color scheme together to complement the sign and cabinetry. Some building codes are now requiring water heaters and heating units to be protected, so this cage was designed and built to safeguard against damage from an accident of a vehicle and still allow for proper ventilation. Powder coated in the same Pam Am blue color as the cabinets, it actually blends in exceptionally well into the decor, whereas this area is often an eyesore in most garages. Hi Norm! I visited your shop 10 years ago....December 31, 2003 to be exact. I can remember as I rode with Tom in the Enzo from his home in Michigan (near where I live) to his storage facility in Mishawaka. At the time, you were working on the clay model for the new body of one of Tom's cars. I just found my pics of the journey that day...I'll post some now.
Tom had an incredible collection of cars that he kept in Mishawaka (his original hometown), although he had moved to Michigan. He also had an incredible collection of wooden boats from the 30's, 40's, and 50's that he kept in Michigan. Tom passed away a while back...he was one of the nicest guys you could ever meet. He was always happy to share stories and show his collection, and always so humble that he never had an interest in "showing off" his collection. His passion was historic cars, but he would still buy a new one every now and then. He had had put his name on the Enzo list with Continental in Chicago, but was told that he was going to miss getting it as their allotment was only going to be two cars and he was third on the list. He said he was actually relieved as it was a lot of money to spend on a new car that had proven its worth, but then he got a call that Ferrari had decided to bump the Enzo production up from 349 to 399 units and Continental would now get a third Enzo...Tom's Enzo. I rode with him from Michigan to where he stored his cars in Mishawaka. I remember the day like it was yesterday....December 31, 2013. It was a rare day where the roads were dry and the sun was out. We stopped by McDonald's for breakfast on the drive down; we made quote the scene showing up to buy a $4 meal in an Enzo. I recall passing a semi on a two lane country highway and the computer said we hit 141 mph during the pass. Tom casually commented that these darn things always indicate high and he was confident that we didn't go a drop over 135. Here's some pics I dug out (note that Tom had a winter home in New Mexico and that all of his cars were plated with New Mexico plates even though he kept his cars in Indiana/Michigan).... Tom hung out with my dad and his friends. My dad and his friends are all blue collar, down to earth guys and Tom was humble enough that this is who he liked to hang out with. Every week my dad would have a lunch get together at his business and most of his friends would gather. Here's a pic of the parking lot during one such gathering...see if you can guess which car is Tom's. And as you can see, the parking is first come-first served no matter what you drive.
