I would appreciate if anyone would be able to provide to me guidance as to where I could find source/reseach material on this vehicle.

I have driven this vehicle and it does exist! Allegedly, in 1981 Porsche did a run of either 50 or 57 of these cars for the US Market. They were to be sold to Dealers as 'Race Ready' to create interest in the line-they were designated as 'Club Cars'.

Although it has same outward appearance to the 924 of the model year (and painted in the brownish color) it mechanically is different. Among other aspects: Rocaro seats, sodium filled valves, 16" Mag Wheels, mirrors that would snap back at speed over 100mph, a seperate fuel priming switch/button on drivers side door, supposedly developing approx 190hp as it stands.

This is not the so called, 'Weissach Limited Edition'. There is literature on that model available, however the car I am describing is NOT that vehicle.

I would appreciate being directed to any available information about this car.

    Thanks in advance,
    RB

Are you talking about the 924 "Club Sport"? Never heard of "Club Car".

I think he may be thinking of the 924 Carrera GTS.

Year and numbers are in the ballpark and the GTS had a Club Sport model, but I'm not sure about US availability. This has me stumped.

i guess i'm board and did a search. you are corect. apparantly in 1981 there were 59 GTS's built, of which 15 were club sport models with cages and extra stuff. i think i saw a week or so ago a GTS sold for $40k in the US but as far as i know these were not for the US market. However it doesn't descibe the car (looks like a standard 924 )the OP is reffering to.

Unless the OP replies... we don't really know what he's talking about.

"Club Car"???? Never was one. That's why I was wondering about the Club Sport.
