I'm pretty sure I have the most ostentatious garment bag in the world. I dare say there aren't too many royals with bags as extravagant as this. Who am I? A guy that barely breaks six figures in this piss-poor economy! I can't check it on a commercial flight, so what the hell am I really ever gonna do with it?

So for the last several years I've been using a vintage (80's circa) Louis Vuitton to carry my suits but it's beyond a facelift and needs replacing. Who makes the best one these days and where can I get it?

I'd be tempted to frame it and hang it on the wall, it's gorgeous.

That is a pretty cool bag.

For luggage I prefer Travelpro. Inexpensive, durable and looks good too. I personally stopped using garment bags years ago and just put my suits/shirts in a zipper bag on the hanger in my suitcase. I can carry them on the plane that way and they arrive just as wrecked as a garment bag.

That is Croc Belly, the best Skin period and yes, very expensive.

Send it to me and I will carry it around like it is stolen. You know, stuff it with a few of my well-worn Kiton Suits and Check it at Southwest!!

Here is what I just picked up off Fleabay for $800.00. Made out of Alcantra and actually kinda subtle.

I've transitioned to Brigg & Riley for my business case, my carry-ons, the garment bag, and finally transitioned from a large suitcase for vacations to a 25" roller that holds as much as the old one. They are constructed of ballistic nylon (which makes them literally bulletproof...) and have a lifetime warranty for any defect, and also for any damage caused to the bag.

They actually were the maker of the world's first rolling suitcase, and are tough as nails. Not the prettiest things (basic colors, simple exterior), one advantage of their carry-on is that its extended handle is external to the storage space, making it functionally larger and easier to pack. They have some combo bags (suitcase with tri-fold for suits) in both check-in and carry-on pieces. Expensive (but not for folks here lol) but well worth it.

    Regards, Bob H

You think Garment Bags should be less than 150K? And you do not understand how one can be traded for a Ferrari? C'mon, this is the normal on this Forum.

I think whomever pays $150K for a "bag" to put his garments in has rocks in his head!! :D:D

But of course, there are plenty of people out there with too much money. :)

The term is "down under" :p

I have a guitar strap that has the same look/texture, just on a smaller scale; it is baby alligator skin :)

Nice looking bag. Don't think I'd spend $2000 on it though. But I'm not the clientele market for such a bag. Good... no GREAT luck!
