So i'm done with all mechanical & looks based stuff in the car and in my perpetual quest to always have a project going on this car, i wanted to open up a thread on stereos systems, head units ideal for the 355, iphone connectivity, etc.

I understand the 355 comes with an Alpine system? My car has an amplifier in the front (not sure if all come with that)? And an indash fold out navi/cd player which i want to literally break due to its lack of functionality.

I'm looking for some suggestions of what people are using in their 355s for stereo equipment/head units, speakers.

I want something that will be bluetooth to my iphone for music or pandora, etc. Navigation is not necessary as with that car i'm never going into the unknown and with an iphone who needs its.

Thoughts or Suggestions on this front?

    Thanks~

    Chris

I installed this, but to be honest, without an amp it's not that great and I actually don't even listen to it in the car, I love the sound of the motor!

Next week I am planning to install the Parrot bluetooth and music system, model MKi9200:

Bluetooth Hands Free Car Kits - Parrot USA

I have no idea where the control pad will be installed, nor the LCD, nor what will fill the DIN-sized void in the dash where the radio was. Long-term plan is to install a DIN touchscreen, maybe a Raspberry Pi and get real-time OBD or telemetry info.

Oh, and here is something that is just wrong:

If you're not going for an all out system, then you'd want one of the best headunits and speakers and perhaps a small amp.

For one of the best head units, look into the

Pioneer Carrozeria DEH-P01 (Japan version that comes with modest amp)

Or the Pioneer DEX-P99rs (US version of the DEH-P01)

It's right up there with McIntosh

How long before someone posts a typical "the music is in the back" or a "I don't need a stereo" comment or a picture of their engine saying THAT is their stereo?

Anytime anyone posts a thread about the sound system, it's inevitable, lol!

Personally, I enjoy the radio on when I drive and the combination of the music and engine is perfect!!!!!!

wait? isn't all the music in the back?
    who needs a radio?
    wait? Ferrari's came with Radios?

That's not gonna be Concours worthy....

    LOL...
My kids like the radio when they are in the car.
The g/f / fiance likes the radio in the car.

I find it annoying as I'm listening for the next $1000 issue the car is going have....

    LOL

Ok.. so I listen to the radio ... occasionally.
