Indeed, but remember, there are those who keep, maintain, and enjoy their cars abroad in another country. I have an Asian client who has Supercars he keeps in the USA, and others he keeps in Europe. He has no intention of ever taking any of his cars back to his home country.

In the case of the black F50, I really don't know what the plans are...

Of course - I wouldn't deny that possibility at all. :)

Vijay Mallya of KingFisher/Force India has a great collection of very nice cars in Sausalito, CA assuming they are still there. Video from 2010 is on YT:

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pCe6DJwwnhY]VIJAY MALLYA PRIVATE CAR COLLECTION - SAUSALITO, CALIFORNIA - YouTube[/ame]

Photos here: Mallya Car Collection, Sausalito, California photographs Car Magazine P1

What you wrote here previously about the Black F50 was this though:

...which is what brought the challenges relating to importing the car to that country to my attention. The one [gTr] has added is a deal breaker as well. Then with the recent photos of the car still in the USA it seemed important to correct the perception that was given.

I agree. A black F50 is always welcome here in the USA :)

Looks like a warm and loving home for a black F50. Any idea which one that might be?

This is Steve Waldie interstate motors. He is an exotic dealer in NJ. Not sure what the F50 is doing there. I asked him, waiting for an answer.

The New Jersey plated car is with its original owner I believe. Jason knows the owner and it is part of an extensive collection. The car with the Pennsylvania plates was the Texas car since the registration stickers on the drivers side match up. I'm assuming the car in that amazing showroom/garage is the former Texas car as well.

My first assumption too Ian on your final comment. :)

In a sharper photo we might even see that PA plate on the rear of the car still. Lets hope Andrew can clear it all up.

Also if the 104799 car is once again available for sale I know someone who was eager to consider it but did not wish to do business with the previous listing agent.

Was only interested in the black one which by his summation could be had for a relatively reasonable price and likely sold for similar a few years on down the road.

    = = = = =

Seems there is an F50 at Symbolic in La Jolla at the moment as well.

Arrived today - I am guessing it shouldn't last long if it isn't already on its way to someone.

    Oh... THAT one... ;)

Well it should be a bargain for someone as long as they don't mind the history.

Heh. I remember when it initially came on the market. I wonder if it sold, or if it just made the rounds, then went to dealer auction and thus ended up at Symbolic.

Speaking of F50s with stories - does anyone know which car this might have been?

Accident occurred at Willow Springs Raceway in California prior to May 2001. It is hard to tell but a few bits that are left suggest it is a US-spec car. Despite the dust coating the damage looks largely cosmetic -- still not a cheap fix.

This is the David Tunkl car. Crash happened in 1998-9.

Serial No. of the ex-Dvid Tunkl F50 is 104120. Crash actually occurred in September 1999.

Thanks for sharing these pics Erik. Do you have a chassis number?

My heart skipped a beat. That chassis number is very similar (but not the same) to another car that's dear to me :)

    Thanks for the clarification.
