Saw this car in person today at a car show in Baton Rouge; a few pics posted in the other thread, http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/142379415-post17152.html. Sorry though that I can't give ya'll a detailed review of it. To the untrained eye (i.e. mine) it looked in good shape and had the vibe of a driver as opposed to a garage queen. EDIT: I just mentioned to my teenage son that the car was on ebay for $189K and his response was "but it wasn't even in that good of shape." My word against his.

joe, I looked for you today. your car looked lovely as I expected it would. the red one was decent enough despite the dot bumper but your car was over the top nice in comparison!!! i'm sorry we were unable to connect!! pcb
Peter, I'm so sorry, I spent little time with the car, half the time we were ensconced in a restaurant on Brighton way (there were 9 of us!) so it was a little hectic. I hope you likes what you saw, and fir sure we will make alternative arrangements. For the brief time I was there, this was the scene... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Traffic on the 405 South on the way back home was heavy to say the least, but towards OC it opened up and we enjoyed the rocket-ship ride! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Darn I wish I knew that was you. I should have stopped. That 25th Anniversary was beautiful. Where is the front plate from?
That was you in the Maserati? I thought you were going to fall out! That's a genuine Italian EE (Escursionisti Esteri) plate which is issued when cars are collected at the factory by the owner - a Touring plate till the car is shipped back home to its destination. They are good for 1 year, that's why the sticker says May 1990, a year after this car was built. This car was not collected at the factory (it was shipped to Massachusetts in the USA via JFK), but I collect these old plates so I thought it would be pretty cool to have a date-correct one on there, just for shows. I had a lot of positive comments on it, and its interesting you ask too. Its not riveted on there (as they did back in the day), and although its got rivets in all 4 holes to look authentic, its simply mounted by a strip of double-sided tape Thanks for the compliment on the car.
Yes that was me. The rear fender kept getting in the shot so I took my seat belt off so I could hang farther out the window to get a better angle. Usually I don't like the Anniversary edition as much (it is a little too busy for me) but that one looked especially nice. Not having the wing makes a huge difference. Interesting story about the plates too. I couldn't figure out what they were.
Bob Forstner in London is selling a like-new 1990 25th Anniversario with 4,536 miles (7,300 km) for the equivalent of $245,000. Nero/Crema, black piping, all-black steering wheel, black carpets. 1990 Lamborghini Countach Anniversary RHD, only 7300 km | Excalibur Park Lane - BobForstner "This fabulous Countach was first delivered on 11/5/90 by Portman Lamborghini, the sole UK concessionaires at the time. The first owner treated the Lamborghini with the care that it deserved, professionally storing it, maintaining it and using it sparingly. The Countach changed hands for the first time in February 2008 to another collector who then passed it on to current owner in November 2009. Serviced since by specialists including a fresh service in June 2013 this magnificent Italian sports car is ready to be used for the Summer. Supplied with a comprehensive history file as one would expect including the original owner’s handbook pack, service book, current V5C registration document, MoT certificate valid until May 2014 along with old MoT certificates verifying the low mileage on this cherished car. Also included are service receipts, an original sales brochure and various correspondence between the first owner and the Lamborghini concessionaires. This must be one of the best preserved Countach Anniversarys in existence and would be a spectacular centrepiece for any significant collection." If it is still there in 2 weeks I will stop by and look at it. Yea...and that will happen..NOT... as others have stated here with vast experience.. it is priced at an "un-sellable" figure. 1989 cars, a lot of them produced...a lot of them available at any given time. May be the last of the last..but not the most desirable Countach for Purchase IMO. I JUST cant get over those "Kit Car" air intake rakes...but it still is a Lamborghini. There IS a buyer for every variant of Lamborghini..from the OLDEST to the NEWEST current cars.
Canepa says today that the wing and the USA bumper are both gone and the car is getting a complete makeover. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hey Joe, I just wanted to thank you again for this thread. How many Anniversary's do you think are left in the U.S.? It seems like a great many have already left to Japan, Malaysia, etc Roy, I am curious as to your statement that you feel too many of these were produced. If there are only about 140 Anniversary's left on US soil at what point would you say that it is a rare vehicle?
I did not say "there were to MANY produced"...I said a lot of them were produced and a lot of them available for sale...as compared to other variants of the Countach I see available on the market today. I ALSO did not say it was NOT a rare vehicle...it is still a rare vehicle compared to most standards of vehicles of its era in todays market. It IS a Lamborghini and a car to be proud to have and own..just IMO not as desirable or sought after as others. I do think they surely are not going down in value...but I also think a 89 has yet to reach a saleable price of $240K..but in the future I am sure it will...but will that value ONLY be equal to the "Standard" rate of everyday inflation? Of course all is speculation at best as there is NO ONE that can predict the future on anything...including cars...just best experience guess. A side note..if you told me last year that LM 002A trucks would be trading for $150K and above this year..I would have said NO..but they have..so WHO the heck ever knows what a short term of 12 months brings us in the car world.
Of the 658 Anniversarios built, 187 were supposedly built to USA spec, and besides some 17 cars that went to Canada 170 are thought to have been delivered here. As you can see from this thread, many USA 25ths now live abroad, I'd say there are between 100 and 120 cars remaining here. Of the 631 Quattrovalvoles built, approximately a third were USA fuelie cars and I'd say there are between 150 and 175 of those remaining here. So in fact, there are more QVs here in the USA than 25ths, I believe. As regards the market, the spread is fairly even amongst the variants. Most of the cars on the Dupont registry are 25ths: Lamborghini Countach For Sale - duPont REGISTRY Only 1 car out of 9 on Classic Driver is a 25th: http://www.classicdriver.com/uk/find...odelflag=10331 1 25th and 1 QV on EBay: lamborghini countach | eBay There has always been a little resistance to the 25th as regards styling, specification etc. and this has been true of all variants of the Countach at some point in the past. But nothing stays the same, and that resistance has already waned with time. The 25th's current appreciation is not simply because they are the Last-of-the Series, its because it remains the best handling, best driving, best built and most reliable Countach bar none, and it is growing in both acceptance, popularity & value as people find out how great they are. How often in Automotive history have we seen that happen to certain cars? Not the first time. Personally, after being around Countachs for almost 30 years and owning every single variant made from LP400 on over the past 25 years, the 25th Anniversario's styling has grown on me hugely, and I absolutely love it: muscular, with the strakes giving it the look of speed whilst standing still, outrageous as a Countach should be. Then there is the driving, the most important part, and there is none better. If I sold this one, I'd only go out and buy another. As regards Bob's asking 145 GBP ($245k) for that London car, whilst that is not a typical USA price, I bet he considered carefully, and I bet he will get his price as he almost always does. I'm in touch with him and I will ask him what he thinks.
If you allow me, like some Belgian I know in Belgium one 25th offered for many years by the same dealer, that just raised its price to cover the interest on his stock... so that dealer is acting like many others in Europe (I know 6 cars) who are just raising artificially the market price average. I speak here of a price now at 150 to 160.000 or 195 to 215.000 US$... According to me and some others Lambo observers, it doesn't match the reality of deals on the European market & buyers !
