Gorgeous! How's it like Chris? Do we just wait @ the lobby for them to handover the keys & that's it or some instructor will take you on a drive?

I was told it's not possible to have our SG registered car to be delivered there. Reasons being
    1) Insurance. So I asked if they can lend a trade plate & insure 3rd party. Nope!
    2) If to properly insure it, you need to register there under your name or whoever which means it'll be a 2nd hand car when imported to SG. Oh no....

when you book the car thru your local dealer you spec home delivery option. porsche, lambo and ferrari has this program, so does mercedes I believe. perhaps porsche sg is not supporting the program. After u done with car in ee you drop off back to porsche and they will ship to your home country as like a normal delivery.

They will arrange ee plates and temp insurance. its a bit more difficult now with a requirment of bond to ensure the car leaves the ee in six months so to not avoid the vat.

The cars are ready when you arrive. You just show up, sign some paperwork and drive off.

KL-SG in 2 hrs is possible & again depends on how some calculate it. Whether is it first toll to last toll or from toll to destination. I think toll to toll from Tuas is about 330km +/- as I've done it in 1hr45mins and some even faster. You don't even need to drive too fast as long as the traffic is clear like 1st light or if you can see, after midnight. These days I do 3hrs but it's a boring route. The problem is the heavy traffic & certain parts where you cannot speed.

A friend does 2hrs+ from toll to Genting for breakfast in his CL500  mad fella!

they were all HK rhd cars, haven't done it with SG cars yet.

A 2007 GT3 RS only cost S$160k to play with in europe in those days. less than a bmw 3 series in sg

the autobahn is a better road to break in your ride than the PIE.

Speaking of driving experience. It's probably similar to Asianbond as the Italian mountains really give you the creeps & the adrenalin is so seductive like a temptress!

Up in those Tuscany hills, the roads are tight & they don't close it during events but when driven in a convoy of mad fellas trying to outdo each other, it really pits your skills & pushes you+car you never knew you could and then you have the crowd that waves & cheer you on. Simply memorable.

Chris, won't the lip of your Mk1 RS shatter in those French countryside? I swear we were airborne a few times during the Mille Miglia. *ouch*

    That's nice to hear.

Targa, not this year for sure as I can only do one trip annually. Would like to do the MM but need the period car which doesn't guarantee a seat either as it's always oversubscribed. Realised that they had a last minute entry for the modern Ferraris this year & only 70+ cars joined but a lot of people didn't know about it.

I still need to find the correct car for events such as Targa & Tour Auto. LeMans Classic will demand a proper FIA racing license & properly prep car which means big money. Some even bring their pit crew!

I'm thinking of getting the period 3.0CSL, Alfa GT or Lotus, gave up on 911s (Too exp!). Tried an XK150 coupe recently & think I'll need a lot of driving to get it right so modern cars from post 70s seems easier to handle. What would you recommend Chris?

We must be seeing GHOST

Oh gosh..... S$160K & IIRC, the same car costed us S$600K+ even for Mk1.

Guys, must do a trip to visit car museums sometime like Gus. Go BMW, Merc, Porsche, Mulhouse etc. leave the women @ home, just the men ^^

gotta do it in a converrtible. an austin healy would be a good choice, very reasoanable entry price. depends on the event. You can also find inexpensive 911's

i'm liking the e type conv series 1.

SF, i think what you mentioned is right. "This is a public forum" and i believe everyone entitled to their words. By saying that, this is NOT YOUR forum. So i need not to tell you my real name. Just like some members here mentioned not to give details. Isn't real name as part or details. Just because i just join means i am junior. OMG! i really got nothing much to say on this. I will just keep shaking my head. haha... Didn't know there is such logic.
I would give senior status to a person either very knowledgeable or indeed elder than me by 1-2 rounds. Just because u just this forum in 2004 and u become senior to me when i just join. haha... What a joke. But again, if u deem it this way. Be it...

I came in here hoping that fellow singaporeans would help each other.

Oh yes yes.... when i mean value worth. It does not equate to cash. I did use my words correctly. Is it meant that i should not buy a used car or rather i should get a new car because i can afford it? mmm... this logic doesn't seems right for sure. There are few richer than me and still getting used cars. Or to say Warren buffett himself is still stuck in his old house. Buddy.... try to look things at other angle. Don't stick to one side coz you get stuck. DOn't believe. ask any "seniors" here. they will be able to help you out.

I think i ain't getting much inputs from here as people here are richer than me. They can afford to pay for something just because it is in this way. haha... Rich noobs. I am not those type. I want to know what i am getting and what should i take note of what i am getting. I don't think i am wrong to think of this.

Anyway.... You mother parkers have fun measuring each other dicks and poking each other ass and btw... please enjoy sucking each other dicks! haha...

    Regards,
    Mr. Chow. haha...

I think one of my most memorable trips was driving throughout the Andalucian mountains in Spain on a porsche tour and we tried various varieties. Found then that my favorite handling porsche was the boxster and the 991 chassis is soo much more advanced than the 997. The roads were single and at parts unpacked with steep drops off the sides and no barriers. Need balls of steel to drive fast!

Oops that's a surprise check mate!

Pinky, I was finding you quite fun but they have to ban you so early on. Told you to show respect but you lost your cool too easily. Sigh.

Haha Tiong! Your dark joke never fails to impress. Where does this handsome boy hail from?

Not at all. Even my Estima does 170 all day long & I think Jap cars have limiter set at 180 anyway. Most cars are made for long distances, it is those who don't leave this tiny island that raises eyebrows but most cars are more capable than we are & always know your limits that's why I'm going back to classics as I'm not capable of handling a sub 3secs car!

Sounds wonderful. I've heard of Spain being a good country for driving & love their modern architecture. Is the 991 such an advance over the 997?

Royce had a joke. We were plagued by dengue with 20k? Cases so the fogging should chase those mozzies away ^^
