Mine finally failed at 60 K miles, worst case I will have to buy new ones...
You really should just call Fabspeed to see what they can do for a Fchatter. Any discount you get from buying them used is not worth it IMO as Fabspeed has a lifetime warranty for the original purchaser of the headers. Buy them second hand and you don't have a warranty I believe. Also, I have never seen used Fabspeed headers for sale. They get installed and never taken off. Just my $.02
mech said major leak, confirmed by a smoke test. my cars have been with him for 7 years so I know hes correct. I assume there not worth repairing, right?
Oh so wrong, I took mine off immediately after buying my car and replaced w/ good condition OEM headers, HyperFlow Cats, & Capristo 3 Muffler which is the best combination of parts in mine and other respectable mechanics viewpoint.
I already have Hyperflow and Cappy 3 original owner never changed the Headers Oh Well it a fukin $$$ pit I should break 100 K miles by end of next year
Okay, so I am wrong about them never getting taken off as you are one that has taken one off. Everything else is a matter of opinion and the OP is specifically asking about Fabspeed headers.
Wait are you saying your OEM headers failed at 60k miles, or your Fabspeed headers failed at 60k miles? I think he's saying his OEM headers have failed and he's looking for some used Fabspeeds so he doesn't spend a lot of $$ getting the car back on the road.
Yeah I'm also confused....??? The way I read it, it seems like his Fabspeed headers crapped out which is why I asked if they were ceramic coated...
OEM Headers are toast at 65 K confirmed via a smoke test, so I will park it for 2 weeks untill next payday. After I order the Fabspeed, I will drive until the clutch fails, hopefully make it to 80K My 1997 Honda Accord just split a radiator leak after 367,000 miles and it still had the original coolant when I bought it in 1997 with 12 miles from the dealer, now that was a Hella run!!!
