My GT4 was repainted by po and is azzuro color. Po chose not to paint the black below the doors. I'm considering having this done. So the 1st question is. Does anyone have pictures they can provide that show how this was painted, not just below doors but also the quarter panels and below grill area and front? Second querry. My grill is silver and chipped and I would like this redone properly, but someone suggested this may have been black originally. Can anyone show pictures of their original car so I might get this done correctly. My car is 10908. Thank you in advance for the help

Is this the look you are after?

Yes, the lower grill and rear valance is black, upper grills are a dark gray with a textured like finish. Dino 208s have silver...

Are you looking for just below the door sill, or the lower half the the car from the reveal down (boxer).

If its the door sill down there was a good thread several months back that had a discussion and images illustrating various options. I'll see if I can look it up.

Here it is on my 208GT4, I like it the way it was done, sometimes the lower door shut line is used to break the line between body and sill but then it is not a traigh line, on mine the black is approx 2 cm below the door.
If I ever was to respray the car I would leave it in body color as per the brochure of the aerly GT4's

Aero, thanks for the pic my car looks just like this, but without the black paint. Still have a question about how paint looks in front below grill and in rear. In other words, if the car were on a lift and you took pics how does this look?

Ed, a couple of pictures of the rear, first how the car was (black besides the exhaust) and later painted in body color, as it should be. Note the exhaust stripes and Ansa label, these only held for a couple of runs, they are completely burned now.... For my car (208) this is not the original exhaust.
Also a picture of the front, I do not like the way the black area is painted, it is definately not original, maybe coming winter to change that. The front now has the white indicator lamps as used in Italy and the car is now on XWX tires on restored Cromodora wheels.

No thanks, can you share some pictures of your car, I would love to see one in this color without the black sills, when I do a respray, probably not in the coming 10 years, I would like to have thes in body color as well.

    Ed,

If you are a new GT4 guy I can send the factory instructions on how the instructed dealers to do this and other documents if you would like. Many like both ways of painting. I am keeping mine as I got it
Here is a pic of the factory with just the lower sills painted

I have been a GT4 cheerleader for over 20 years.

Do you know what the original color was the year and serial #?
