http://www.renaultsport.com/Come-on-feel-the-noise,2630.html?lang=fr sounds very very nice. they are clearly not revving that engine anywhere near 15k in this sound bite though. I say not more than 11-12k actually.
we're definitely not getting a full whack of sound with that clip. That clip is from a dyno room I'm sure with the exhaust well vented out of the building. Exhausts always sound quieter when in the room with their exhausts plugged a bit. In all, it doesn't sound bad. As I said before, there's no way they're revving to 15k in that clip. I just hope they don't have to keep it that low due to fuel restrictions. 100kg of fuel in 2014 vs some 160kg we have now. the intercooler placement is certainly interesting. I suppose that's the best place to put it? The 60-70kg fuel difference will actually make for an interesting shift in setups for cars in general. Some cars are much quicker on lower loads than higher when compared to others. Strangely, MB is actually a perfect example of this.
IMHO the sound sux. Sounds like an Indy car engine. Please! Please allow up to a 3.5 L motor naturaly aspirated 4,6,8,10,12 or whatever cylinders. Flat or V or whatever. No fuel restrictions or rpm restrictions.I really don't care for the indy car sound. GTS Bruce
Sounds good to me. Relax guys next year will be a great year of technical interest finally again! Pete
Thanks for posting this, reminded me to stop at Home Depot and pick up some 2 cycle oil and string for the weed eater for this weekend.
