What about the clear lenses on this 25th? What's the story here? Do they know?

We have noticed that there are a lot of 25th in the USA that have the clear lenses, and they cant all be damage-related, so there must be some personal preference at play with some cars. Hard to tell without knowing individual history.

No idea if he knows or not or if he cares, I never thought to ask him.

Personally I like the frosted/opaque lenses and they are part of the 25th Annivesario package and give the car a special look, But I can certainly understand some wanting the look of the older cars.

You need to watch their inventory and then pay attention to where the cars go.

Yesterday my wife & I drove down into San Juan Capistrano, by the Old Mission. Crowded on a Saturday (ergo the stuck-in-traffic pic earlier). Wonderful part of the world, with some interesting locations. She had her trusty camera on hand, and although I'm a useful photographer, its at times like this that I'm reminded that some people truly have a gift for photography, as she definitely does. I stood back well out of the way, and the following is what ensued in an hour of shooting.

These are the best shots only, many more were taken. We hope you like some of them.

The results show what a beast the 25th is. As someone remarked (at the risk of insulting the ladies): "A real man's car", all muscles with the business of speed written all over.

I'm posting the high-res versions because I know I will be asked, although these are Copyrighted Margaret Wold Sackey, anyone is welcome. Enjoy.

Great pictures! Does this mean the car is for sale since you are driving around on dealer tags?

Seriously...this car has ALWAYS been for sale from the moment Joe got it..

    I guess we have a NEW "Roy-Joe" It's a KEEPER!! LOL

I must say..and I am sure it will start a fire storm..but things like this ABUSE of a "Dealer" plate just pisses me off to NO END..as a matter of fact I am not sure that is even a "Retail Dealer" plate..it appears to be a State of California "Dealer transport-wholesaler" Plate..which is EVEN WORSE!!

It is BS use of a Dealer Plate like this one by Dealers' that abuse them and put them on their own cars, or their wife's day to day Mercedes car...all to AVOID sales Tax and Plates and Registration fee's! THATS why we Dealers get bad wrap from the Public...WHEN these Plates are Mis-Used and Abused for Personnel gain!!

JOE..you should be ashamed of yourself...either the car IS FOR Sale, its in your inventory and ITS LISTED on your Site, as required by law, with VIN# and miles...OR its not for sale. If ITS not for sale you ARE mis-using this plate and cheating the Citizens of California of their DUE right Sales Tax on the fair Market Value of this car, along with plates and Tabs SINCE IT is your personnel car AND NOT for sale....along with ANY other car OPERATED by a person that is NOT an officer of the Dealership as well as affixed to any vehicle THAT IS not for sale and listed as such..

Thanks for adding to the "Bad Wrap" Dealers get all around the country when Law Abiding Tax Paying Citizens of the USA see this kind of crap...cars hauling wife's, kids to school, soccer practice, out for a sunny Sunday drive.. AND SPORTING Dealer Plates..all a mis-use and a cheating way out of Taxes due ALL the people that pay their fair share..

No one LIKES to pay taxes..but its a part of life..at least your rate is lower in Cali then here in Washington, I pay 9.9% Sales Tax on MY LAMBOS and OTHER cars that ARE NOT for sale and I drive.

2 wrongs don't make a right...JUST because "he has Dealer tags" if it his OWN car NOT for sale he is just as wrong as you are with your Dealer tags/..

This is WHAT a car NOT FOR sale and driven for Personnel use should have on the car in the form of CORRECT TAXES paid, Registration Paid..NOT to mention to have the CORRECT Private insurance on it to cover others on the road..not "Dealer Lot insurance"...

Just count these few I have here..take the fair retail market price and time that by 9.9% Sales Tax..Yea I have paid my fair share...as ALL should..

  19. He's still legal as a dealer in the State of Ca. He can go at least 9 months, and it looks like he has had the car for a little over 5 months. Perfectly legal. Many plate their cars in Montana, Alaska, to beat the tax. Florida is easy on plating a car btw. We are talking about Lamborghinis, not tax strategies btw.

Not, you are in-correct here..it is ONLY LEGAL if the car is FOR SALE and as such advertised with the Dealer of record (the Dealer in which the plate is affixed)..and Joe has CLEARLY stated that the car IS NOT FOR SALE..or it least that is what he says..and I dont see it advertised for sale anywhere. SO if it IS NOT for SALE..then the mis-use of the Dealer plate is quite evident.

As far as "Private Persons" aquiring title/plates and registrations via LLC Companys in other states i.e. Montana, Alaska and the like...we are all aware of this Legal loop hole. As a matter of fact, in recent court decisons in the STATE of CALIFORNIA these LLC to circumvent the taxes and such was found to be illegal. There have been a few of late that have been hit by the State of California for "failing" to register and pay taxes on a car they own and operate in the State of California while TITLED in Montana LLC.

As a side note and maybe a warning to a few, the State of California as well as a FEW other States have requested from the State of Montana Attorney Generals Office/via the DMV any and ALL vehicles registered/titled under LLC that show "owner/Operator" of the LLC NOT a VALID Licensed Driver License from the State of Montana records of the LLC. This was requested FIRST by California first part of this year, since then I know that several other stated have asked for the same "Publc Record" info as well.

Then, what they are doing, is cross referencing the LLC principles of record with their States data base for "Driver License", Tax records, voting cards..etc etc..when they find a match..which they are already doing...then it is just a matter of time...of course you have the legal right to fight the State as to what they consider "operating" a vehicle in their State that is not correctly titled and registered and Sales tax paid...but we all know who wins when you fight the Taxing agency.

With all the "Revenue" losses states have been experiance the last few years...they are being very very "Pro-active" in searching out "tax evasion" and going right after it. The "Old Days" of title in a tax free State are history..

FYI, as of the 1st of this year, ALL 50 States DMV have linked in on the same Computer Data system and signed a compact to share any and all information. This was done to mainly stop the "Washing" of Salavge titles, branded titles, rebuilt titles" and the like..but Dept of Revenue linked with DMV has found this sharing of information a "Gold mine" finding non correctly titled/registered vehicles.

AFter all, it was just a matter of time...people find a loop hole...use it..then a LOT USE it...and the Tax Collectors discover it and plug it up..then on to the next one.

Take our State, Washington for instance here. We build the Boeing Planes..NOT A SINGLE Boeing Airplane has ever generated Sales Tax for the State...why, because they fly the plane out over international waters...sign the papers in the air and do a funds transfer internationaly..YEA thats a HELL of a loose for our State..our State is trying to plug it with other ways currently.

Also used to be the same with mega Yatchs and the such..in our State no sales tax as the Yatch sellers would take it 3 miles off shore, international waters..do the same they do with the Planes..BUT our State stopped that..they just changed the use/sales tax to be due UPON getting your Coast Guard Boat ID sticker Numbers on it when you went and registered your boat....one way or another..the tax collector eventualy gets it and wins, just part of life.

But good for anyone that can use the written law to their advantage..why not...

I dont want to keep harping on this..just make people think a bit..I am sure just about everyone "fudges" on their Federal Taxes here and there..walk in the "Gray" are on on the "fence line" when they can...but think about it..you walk into a Dealership, you buy a car, you get hit with 9.9% tax on it...then you see the owner drive away in his car, Dealer Tags and does not pay a RED CENT in Sales tax...you sure would not jump up and say YAHOOOO for him!

Just not correct IMO and not setting the correct example for us Exotic Car Owners.
