JOE: Not often see these side by side. It's clearly seen how much lower the LP400S is. Jasperlambo: Fantastic shots, thank you for sharing these ones!!! Have you high resolution images, meaning bigger sized 1024 at least? Meaning could you send me that side view in my email address, if it's possible? Here's some of my work at home.... Hope at least someone likes.... Urheiluautosta tekemiäni piirroksia
It takes some getting used to but its pretty cool. I bet the inspiration was the 1983 TV series Automan's Countach Automan - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Speaking of LP400S S2 and new owners, 1121282 is in process of going to a new home (if all goes well), a gentleman enthusiast who has waited very patiently for this car. Perhaps one day in the near future he will share his experiences. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Downdrafts: Ive heard many different build numbers, and have seen things posted here about it before. George Evans says 144 were built. Do we have a confirmation on actual build numbers? Ive also heard that only about 1/3rd of the QV's were FI cars which would make 144 not possible. Thoughts or solid answers? Thanks!
after few car events 1458 is in the shop now i am having brakes overhauled, new ss brake lines and fresh tyres (as much as i love these old P7s i am not safe driving it with so old tyres) Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I've always heard the same figures as Joe and Emilio. Something like 2/3 were Downdraft, 1/3 fuel injection. Oh to be able to travel back in time and raid the records department before the fire... ;-) Mike
Fire? Pray tell us more, because someone must have anticipated the coming of "the fire" with Divine Intervention
Well better to have more than less of this variant! They go like stink! I go back to back with the Carrera GT and the DD and guess which one I always want to get back into......... the DD..... Its such a different car experience than anything ever made IMHO. Those Low Bodies are fantastic!
Vic I have sent the question. I have never seen it before! But I'm guessing its some kind of Parade float or display.
Joe, maybe its one of those Urban Legend things.... LOL! Over the years, I've read a few things like this example from David's site: Untitled Document Its about 1/2 way down the page, but states the following: "There is no clear demarcation between the so-called Series 1 and 2 cars and factory records for the entire LP400S line were destroyed in a fire at the factory some years ago. I believe the bulk of the Series 1 cars (i.e., cars prior to about 112.1104 made in very early 1980)" I thought I remember Alberto talking about a fire at the factory also. I'll ping him and ask him to provide any details he might have heard. Mike
I was going to guess that it was Mothra, and Godzilla was right outside the warehouse! Mike Image Unavailable, Please Login
Well, all I can say is that either there are copies of all the Countach records circulation, or, somebody had great foresight!
Just received the response that its an award-winning Parade art car. It has thousands of man-hours in it.
