I am not an owner but I love the 496hp convertible I drove. I bought a maclaren 12C instead. As you can tell from my profile I drive several sports cars. The Jag is a great cruiser and sporty, but not a real sports car. But I would own one. I cannot talk to reliability, sorry. Best Lee
Thanks. I'm considering it for the "GT Spider" role in my garage, not a "true" sports car. It would take the place of a "very similar" Maser Gransport Spider...
Drove one too. I drove the 3.0S 381hp version. Imho the 340 is a bit underpowered, and the 5.0 doesn‘t justify the price difference in Europe. You could find some bad things to say about it, but you have to keep in mind it is not a German car, but boy, this Jag has some caracter. It is a bit like if you drive a short wheel base uberroadster that handles a bit like a E46 M3. The rear of the car wants you to play. The only thing I noticed, in 3.0 381hp the car needs some torque in town, there is not much going on in traffic until 3kish RPM. I think as a M128 spider replacement it would be a good choice. The 5.0 is definitely better than a AM Vantage roadster for ex.
Traded an 04 360 spyder for a v8 F about a month ago. I put about 1500 miles a year on the 360. I have 2300 on the Jag so far. This was to be a third car, but is to nice to sit for that long. With the difference between the modes it can be tame like an SL , or something much sportier ( and louder ). If price is any consideration , you cannot beat this car .
