IMO that's a function of an overly restrictive rule book.

and Massa needs to go ASAP.

+1 and more. WDC or nothing. Ferrari is going to get paid anyway. WCC is window dressing on a series focused on the individual.

Isn't that the general feeling with Massa in every session lately? ;)

I left the room only too return and see the car and a disgruntled Massa, what happened? The track was dry in P2 so can I assume he dropped a wheel? Webber announced his F1 retirement and I have a feeling that Massa may be following him.

Pulling things out from where the sun don't shine again...

How many WCCs a team has won is one of the critical measures of how successful they have been.

All your opinion, which means absolutely nothing, but nevertheless they already have the best driver in the series who is doing everything he can to win the WDC and has come close despite vastly inferior cars. I want to see them get a driver that can back him up in this quest (aka run close to him, tail gun for him, take points off his rivals) and be useful in comparing data and testing parts (aka not crashing in practice).

I also care about the WCC.

Ferrari has been like this since day 1. Were you complaining about Ferrari being a "no-win situation" when it was exclusively Schumacher's team when they won everything in the book for years? No win situation...Really?

I agree whole heartedly so save the snide comments.

We are in a dwindling minority. F1 is no longer recognized as a team sport by a celebrity obsessed world.

It still matters and I'd like to see Ferrari win it instead of ****ing Red Bull. Massa is useless in this endeavor.

They just have a love affair with Massa. Plus he was looking much better last season when his contract was up for negotiation. If they bring him back now, I have lost all hope.

Try again. NO Win for the #2 as Ive stated on many occasions. Whatever. Keep debating a decision you have ZERO input on as you pretend to be a team owner lol!

Just to recap the stints of Ferrari's last three #2 drivers...

While with Ferrari, in this horrendous, "NO WIN" situation:

Eddie Irvine - 4 wins, 24 podiums (Had a legitimate shot at a WDC)

    Rubens Barrichello - 8 wins, 51 podiums

Felipe Massa - 11 wins, 36 podiums (Had a legitimate shot at a WDC)

All these guys banked millions of dollars and raced for the most famous team in the history of motorsport. Man, who in their right mind would opt for that when they could drive a Sauber or Force India instead?

DF1 sure knows what he's talking about

Not to speak for DF1 but I'd say the role of number two has changed with the arrival of Alonso.

    Really? How so?

I think you could make a strong case for Schumacher dominating the team even more than Alonso...

    EXACTLY my thinking

Allegedly they read this site. I sure hope so. They need to know that the majority of Ferrari fans want him gone

Under Alonso number twos aren't allowed to challenge.
Under Michael no such formal prohibition was needed.

I suggest you revisit the Zeltweg GP where Rubens came in 2nd and MS handed him the cup on the podium

Who the F cares?? Ferrari did exactly what it took, as a team, to be more successful than anyone else ever with Schumacher.

Any argument against that is absurd.

If Ferrari thought Rubens could have done better, I have no doubt they would have reversed their order of preference.

Not disagreeing. Just stating that #1 and #2 status at Ferrari existed before Alonso.

  24. DF1

And that status for #1 will continue after FA.

  25. DF1

DF1 Three Time F1 World Champ

I do as much as you. Unless there is a major blow to the #1(Kimi phoning it in and MS injury), the other guy in the garage is not the priority for wins or WDC. Its really that simple. As evidenced by the data. Sure they won a few races and NOTHING else.
