Please tell more! What kind of engine does it have? Looks absolutely stunning! I really, REALLY love the thought of an oldschool Alfa as a track car, but never given it so much thought because I figured you have to have a mechanic with you every time...
Ok, the engine is a 2.0 Nord Alfa twin cam (plans were for a twin spark (done a few of these conversions) on throttle bodies, but time was pressing on & I had all the parts to build a fruity Nord - high compression pistons, 12mm C&B cams, ported & flowed head, tubular manifold, 45mm Webers, lightened flywheel, electric cooling fan - approx 180bhp in around 800kg. Big front brake conversion (4-pot callipers, vented discs), bias valve on rear line, Alfaholics track day 4.5 LSD, lightweight trailing arms & spring pans, Alfaholics 15" GTA rims with Hoosier 205/50 track tyres, RS (Ron Simons - he runs a driving school at the Nurburgring) handling kit with adjustable coil overs, Recaro seat, Willans harness, Safety Devices roll cage. The twin spark (from a 1990 Alfa 75) on throttle bodies should develop over 200 tractable bhp - small by Ferrari standards, but pretty lively in 800kg.... My '77 308 GT4 - converted to racer in 1990 and been run like that ever since . Run primarily in the UK Ferrari Owners Club Championship . Love it to bits and will never let it go - others (Porsches , jags , fords ) have come and gone but this old girl stays . 380 flywheel BHP and 1100 kg make for good fun but current developments should give me 400 + BHP and 950 kg from a 2 valve 3.0 litre on carbs !!
