Very nice! Back in 2002 when I bought my Jalpa, I also got one from the factory for that car also and no cost either. :)

In the grand scheme of things, paying 600 Eu to obtain vital historical information from the manufacturer themselves that supports the provenance of a classic car worth multiple six figures is fine.

Perhaps but it gets tiring when every time you try and do something you are bent over because it is for a car 'worth six figures'. Many other manufacturers support their classics much better than Ferrari or Lamborghini leaving the Italians with a lot to learn. Short term thinking and cashing in IMHO.

    True.

Ferrari's Classiche program is pretty good in terms of support and its getting better. Perhaps Lamborghini will develop something similar.

As regards paying more for parts, insurance, etc etc for valuable classic cars, it comes with the territory.

aaaaaaaaah, Tony Renzi. I had an interesting conversation at our Concorso Ferrari and Friends event this past weekend, with a fellow Lambo owner, that shed a lot more light on who Russell is. Also Tony's car.

When we get a rough Countach for 80k, be happy and take off the rosie glasses when writing a check for 80k for a Countach. Especially when it is between 2 guys who buy and sell.

Let's just say we should all ignore the issue between these 2 flippers. Each "may" have sold cars that are questionable.

Do you know anything about the history of that dealership? I found some reference to "Scotto Antonio" who may be the principal?

Other than that, there's little that I can find about SEA.

On your paperwork, Scotto Antonio would be the car's first owner (Antonio Scotto).

SEA Automobili is steeped in Lamborghini history as the renowned Rome dealer from the 60s through to the late 80s and it is one of the most famous Lamborghini dealers of all time! Many VIP owners including the Shah of Iran ordered their Lamborghinis through them. They delivered many Miuras & Countachs throughout the production of those cars, and Ferruccio considered them as one of his best supporters. In fact in the 70s when the USA went for a period without an official concessionaire, many USA buyers ordered their cars through them, so you'll see that the paperwork on lots of LP400, LP400S etc says SEA Automobili.

A little trivia: In 1986, Jon W ordered his DD QV new through them, picked it up in Rome, drove throughout Europe, flew it back to California via LAX, and still has it, 100,000 km + later!

Correct..it is always a "added" bonus to have documentation for your car. But lets also understand that these "reproduction" papers provided by the Factory are just that.."reproductions".

They do not and never will carry the weight and/or value that the ORGINIAL paperwork carry's when selling a car. A seller should note and advise a prospective buyer that the paperwork is a "reproduction of the original"

Same as in the Muscle car world and multiple other car selling arena's. The fact that the ORGINIAL paperwork and not a "reproduction" is included increases the value and the TRUE history of any car.

You can get "reproductions of build sheets and window stickers for cars all day long, available via PHS (Pontiac Historic Society), GM Heritage, Ford Motor Company, on and on..and then of course there are private party's such as Marti Reports and the like..

ALL good to have..but nothing replaces the ORGINIAL documentation that was born with the car.

This morning I pay a visit to Colin Clarke... what a coincidence to meet Jonathan and his Countach just before they left...

Colin is a clever person very friendly and I was surprise by the size of his workshop with so many treasuries...
