Ferrari LaFerrari vs Mclaren P1 vs Porsche 918

it's not necessarily about whether you can afford it, Ferrari haven't allowed many of us who can afford it to purchase (I didn't expect an invite due to simply not having bought that many ferrari's) - though I do know people who i'd of expected to qualify who didn't.

I personally refuse to pay 300k+ over list.

I hope it will go around a track as fast as it sounds! Does it have an absolute official lap time around the Fiorano track yet? Will Ferrari take it to the 'Ring in Germany to show it's faster than the McLaren P1? Will they allow it to be tested and compared at the Top Gear test track by the Stig so they can finally show the world that Ferrari dominates the hypercar segment? LaFerrari is Ferrari's ultimate hammer slam to prove they are back on top podium of this performance segment and the howl of the LaFerrari engine will equal the bite! I hope.

 

Saw the P1 last week. If any of you have a chance to view it, you must. Pictures don't do justice to this car. It's the most beautiful car i have ever seen!! Everyone I met at the preview was impress with it.

Saw it at Geneva and got to sit in it. Much as I hate to say it P1 looks spectacular. LaF only from some angles (generally not the back!)

It was presented in the Spore dealer's showroom. Frank Stephenson the designer from McLaren gave an speech about the car. He mentioned it will be the fastest car on road/track. I have not seen the LF. It will be a tall order in the looks dept for the LF to outdo the P1.

The P1 is one of the ugliest supercars ever made. Plus it sounds terrible, just like a vacuum cleaner.

 

Oh my, Ferrari fans do really crack me up. This is one beautiful machine built for speed and looks from outer space. Also when you hear that brutal, modern, lightweight V8 engine sound in real life, you'll regret what you said Johnny. Sorry, I'm having to defend the P1 here because all the comments are pure hatred from blind Ferrari fans. Btw I'm a Porsche fan, and I do visit most forums, but it's here where people possess no respect for other manufactures and their achievements. Come on guys, open your eyes.

Strange Post. Actually i'd go as far as to say that most people here were slightly let down by the looks of the LaF and prefer the P1. Looking at those shots of it in black I'd find it hard to disagree. The LaF looks like it had two different teams work on it, one for each end of the car, both of them nice but they don't seem to quite belong to the same car. I still really like it but it's facing tough competition from the P1 both in looks and performance. Sound on the other hand may be the one area where LaF has the P1 licked but let's wait and see..

 

How P1 can sounds good if this car have the same engine as mp4-12c?
McLaren MP4-12C sounds bad , what are engine modification in P1 that it's suddenly start to sounds nice? Higher revs or different exhaust system?

I heard 12C blast past me yesterday in full acceleration mode and I almost had heart attack! It sounded like a burning cat with fire coming out of the anus. This improvement they made to the original sound really has changed the voice, now I would say it is almost a too violent sound, it must be on the edge of legal and not legal. A friend who is an engineer supplier said to me that P1 sounds completely different, much more throaty at low rev and high pitch wailing at high rev, engine is not the same, block is recast, much bigger turbos, exhaust is radical he said to me, roof snorkel intake sound in the interior next to drivers head makes a sound like Hulk taking his last breath.
