hi, my warranty on my 2010 458 is about to expire. Is there anything I should particularly look for, or have the shop look for, prior to losing my warranty? I have about 10,000 miles on the car.

    thanks.

Are you planning on renewing your warranty for another year?

    Yes

The dealer can plug in to check your clutch. Also they can check to be sure your car has all of the factory upgrades and service bulletins.

I have the same year 458 and I believe there is a cose clamp service bulletin. My car was done at the last service.

No clutch on the 458. Also, I think the campaigns are free after warranty but not sure about all.

However, for sure I would have the car do a complete shakedown at the dealer and see if they can find anything they can put under warranty now.

A Portuguese popular saying should be applied here.
“Gato escaldado de água fria tem medo” (Scalded cat cold water fears)! :)

You have 2 clutches. At least they call it a dual clutch system. Agreed there is not a clutch pedal. Ferrari calls the dual clutch a dry system. It is still in an oil bath all it means is the shift is done with a electric solenoid not a oil hydraulic valve. This is one of the reasons the cars shift so fast.

Both the 360 and 430 just like the lambo have a place for the dealer to plug in and check clutch wear. I am assuming the 458 is the same.

As a more interesting side bar I was at the dealer today and I saw a picture of the new 740hp replacement for the 12 cylinder 599. Just stunning :)

I think you are right on the campaigns being paid for by Ferrari. Some of the upgrades to the car maybe not.

    Best :)

Thank you all for your thoughts. Regarding the clutch... even if it was worn down, i thought that's not a warranty item... similar to brake pads. Am I correct?

I will ask them to check as much as they can regardless. I am not planning on renewing the warranty but will consider.

    thanks.

Correct, worn out clutch is a wear item not cover by the warranty.
