I was doing the o-ring replacement job and found that my flexible oil line that runs from the filter mounting block ain't so flexible anymore. I think it was cracked and had been contributing to the pretty heavy drippage at the rear of the block.
I'm looking online for a braided steel line and will report back if I find anything. Plan B is to use the oe line part #110459 which should last no more than 35 years.

Vantage Motors made up a custom steel braided line using the original (and basically impossible to find) banjo fittings for me at a very reasonable cost.

If you're expecting to get that online part from Ferrari UK (part number looks familiar), good luck as they don't actually have them in stock and haven't for a long, long time according to the email that I received from them on my inquiry.

The line is not difficult, the fittings are the hard things to find and no one to my knowledge has them.

Any sense what the pressure requirements are? Is it 100psi or much less? The cracked hose appears to simply be a rubber line. The fittings are banjo bolts and tend to come in a few sizes. Maybe NLA from Ferrari but a pretty standard motorcycle part.

There is pressure in that line but I don't know how much. Since it is all part of the motor oil system and standard oil pressure is about 6 kg/cm2 or IIRC about 85 psi., I'd say that it could be close to or less than that.

I don't know if Vantage checked motorcycle banjo fittings but then again, the cost of the fabricated line was reasonable.

Or I could be totally wrong.

There are usually two different "pressure" specs -- working pressure and burst pressure.

Something like 100 psi (minimum) working pressure and 300 psi (minimum) burst pressure are values I'd consider (before doing more research ;)) -- JMO.

...I think I got mine from Pegasus Racing...You should be able to get both "universal" lines and also the banjo fittings to make this up, but if you can get another 20 years and simply get from Eurospares you may be happier yet...Lee

I stopped into a local distributor of hydraulic hoses and fittings and one of th guys there restores corvettes. He immediately 'got it' and gave me two options for repair. The oe part is a very basic hose that certainly lasts a while so maybe the steel braided 'lifetime' hose is overkill and doesnt match the oe look, for what its worth. Maybe we should consider replacement every 10 years or so which is probably the same duration for the o rings under the filters. We agreed that after 10 years theres probably enough sludge in the hose that you may want to chuck it anyway...you should see the inside of the blow off tank!
I should have a new hose in a few days.

That's interesting; I thought the hose would limit the flow. Thanks for the tip.
The bolts are M10 x 1.25 and I can use the original bolts with new crush washers.

It's the bolt that has the small bore not the banjo. Look at both the difference is drastic.

I see the difference now. Does it matter where the bolt is placed?

Should be at the oil filter end.

Here's my shiny new oil line installed. The fittings are bit bulkier than stock so it was a little work to fit everything. I was thinking of making up a batch of lines in case others want to replace theirs or even just stick it on a shelf for future repairs. You would have to think that if your line is original it should be replaced, along with the o-rings under the oil filters. Price should be around $45 ea. any interest from the group?
