Hi, Does anyone have some more detailed instructions or procedure for removing the exhaust in a Testarossa? I have been looking through the workshop manual & can see various diagrams, but none really give an indication of the steps involved in removing it. Thanks, Gary.
remove the lower valance, everything is easy to get to at that point. The muffler comes out the bottom with the converters in place if you like.
I drove the car on ramps, removed the valance and turned some wrenches. Probably as easy as changing a tire.
Remove the valance, remove the 8 bolts connecting the collectors to the headers. Disconnect the O2 sensors, disconnect the temperature probes, remove the retaining pins from the top. Lift the muffler enough to clear the 2 mounting points you just removed the pins from and lower the whole assemble through the bottom. It's easier if you have help. The muffler is kind of awkward. Now fire the car up for fun and listen to HELL you've just unleashed!
Well I changed my muffler today and it was a bit of a job. I actually removed the lower valance, and had to remove the precats and loosen the Cats and it all came out, reinstalled went a lot easier, deffinatly a tone difference but I think I want test pipes. If anyone has a set for sale let me know, or maybe even if someone has a set of pre cats High performance or whatever, let me know. Sure looks great from the rear with all that polished SS Tubi Exhaust back there.
