Hey, Times from day one; By way of comparison, Mark had fastest race lap at 1:33.4 Pole was MerHam at 1:29.6 Did anyone attend? Cheers, Ian
Spoilers for a YDT? I hope that is with Tongue In Cheek! Perhaps the "Bernie Indicted" Thread should also get a spoiler warning. Will likely have twists and turns to rival Spa.
Being one of the staunchest supporters of the rule I figured I should add it to remind others that it really isn't difficult to do...... But, yeah, I was hoping someone would get a chuckle. +1 Cheers, Ian
Times from day two; Getting quicker, but still not at this years pole time..... Also noticeable that Danny Boy remains quicker in the STR than the Big Can..... Cheers, Ian
Good to see Rossi .5 up on for Caterman interesting that Riccardo couldn't beat the STR time in the 3 time winning car...I think JEV should get a run.
I don't think it's that interesting. It could be the fuel, different setups, different sensors and so on. I'm not sure you can really take big insights out of these times alone.
Still.....this was Ricciardo's audition for Red Bull, he was quicker in the morning in the STR, and he put the Red Bull car in the gravel which brought out a red flag. There is no doubt he was pushing in the Red Bull and simply wasn't comfortable enough in the car to get the full pace out of it.
True that setup etc... could have caused the difference, but I would think if that was the case he or his agent would make a point of publicly noting that something else explains the slower time. It can't look good to the general public that he was slower. Also, aren't the specs for the test controlled by Pirelli...so would there be differences?
Obviously the RBR car isn't all it's cracked up to be, and it proves, once again, that Vettel is easily the best driver in F1 and his success has nothing to do with the car. Seb called me and asked me to post that.
