See that's the thing, Ferrari has an X factor that sucks me in every time

 

Funny you should say that. McLaren have a very different attitude to Ferrari. Despite a long and illustrious history in F1, they know they are the new kids on the road car block going up against the strongest brand name in the business. They have a policy of "getting bums in seats" in order for potential customers to experience how good the product is. In my case I wasn't even considering one until I was given the opportunity to have one for 24hrs. I was very, very impressed. The customer service and genuine interest in your feedback is a refreshing change.

Over at Ferrari it's the polar opposite experience. In 3 decades I have never had a Ferrari on loan, and a test drive is like pulling teeth unless they know you well and are confident you will buy. The organization can be arrogant and not particularly customer focused. As long as customers keep coming back for more it will never change.

Absolutely, and that's why they get away with poor service and breathtaking arrogance. People keep coming back because of that "x" factor.

IMO that is coming to an end. The competitors now make sensational products and offer superior service.

That's the most common guess as to what it is. I think it's the front on view that makes people think it's a Lotus.
It kind of looks bland in photos, especially when it's not in a vibrant colour. In the flesh though it is undeniably exotic and the build quality is immediately noticeable.

This is McLaren's first effort at a volume production road car. The update when it comes is going to be sensational.

 

Ain't nothing wrong with a Porsche 911 GT3. Every time I go to Tassie I spend most of my time trying to keep up with them

 

Cheers - what sort of colour is on the nose cone on your car.
We are white with red letters & numbers etc. front and rear. No GT3 on rear just NZ number plate.

 

Seeing as how McLaren have been caught stealing Ferrari's plans before it may have a better chance of bolting onto the front of the scuderia

They are getting big quickly, I'm sure you've got lots of video of them, I was looking at Troy on his electric Ferrari the other day, he was 2' nothing, and 3 years old ..... today he had 2 hours in the Lexus and 15 minutes in the QV, he's happier in the QV because it doesn't show up his bad driving habits.

Your boys will have some nice toys to practice with when they get their "L" plates

 

The photo Tristan took of your car for Horsepower was outstanding, easily the best looking car out of all the photos in Horsepower for the VIC section

 

Troy is a lucky boy. Wait till he gets a shot in the 355 Challenge

It will be 11 years before my oldest gets to his L plates. I might be too old to use the cars by then

It sounds better than an F40 or Enzo too. (both in standard form, of course)

 

Couple of months ago we had an event at an airfield, cars drag racing up a semi paved airstrip...

Mostly lambos, but I finally got up close to the 12c

Wind was blowing the wrong way so I never actually got to hear the engine apart from idle.

Having seen it in person I like it now Big difference in person.

Oh and it didn't stay white for very long... No one seemed to care about the stone chips either great event.

(360 CS sounded the best though)
