The guys at Unleashed just did the first service to my 458 without a hitch. Today we are getting ready to do a baseline dyno run to establish where we are starting as far as HP and torque and to see how much power gain we can get from just the tune alone. I should have a video link up tomorrow showing the baseline run of the stock setup. "Stay Tuned" as they say LOL

Let us know. Curious as to what our 458s can do with a tune.

Thanks, will keep you posted. Brenton Brown is one of the best tuners out there, if anybody can safely get more power out of it he can. And he is a master mechanic to boot, you don't see that too often.

Here is the video of the dyno pull and picture of the dynograph sheet from earlier today, this was the second pull, got a little higher numbers on the first pull but this was the one we printed off since it goes with the video we did. We got 459 RWHP with standard smoothing (451 SAE). First run was 456 SAE. This is right at what is expected based on the factory spec of 562 HP at the engine and then considering about a 20% reduction at the wheel for automatic transmission. As you can see from the air/fuel line the car is rich from the factory so we think we can get a significant gain from a tune alone, maybe 40-50 hp, we will see. You can see more pics of the car at www.facebook.com/UnleashedPerformance As soon as we get the equipment in to tune it properly we will a higher quality video of before and after tuning. My goal is to get it up to 500 RWHP from just a tune alone. After that we will do some exhaust mods and some other minor things with the end goal of twin turbo without the need of a workaround computer system. We want to do everything within the factory computer system but we have quite a bit more programming to do.

Very nice! Thank you for sharing :)

Do you mind sharing what kind of equipment/software you are tuning the OEM computer with?

    Thanks ahead.

Unfortunately we are doing this the hard way and custom programming our own stuff. We are starting from a platform that gets us some basic tables but gets us into the computer. All the data is there its just that most of it is in binary and has to be translated. I am a Ph.D. chemist but I am working with a computer geek friend of mine to see if we can build a more elaborate system that will get us all the tables, much like what we can see when we tune a Corvette or Camaro using HP Tuners. I'll keep you posted on our progress, perhaps we have something in this realm to sell to other would be tuners. For now should be able to access enough tables to tune after simple upgrades like exhaust system etc. But to be able to tune the factory computer after a twin turbo upgrade is going to take considerable more work. Are you a tuner?

I am not a tuner, I am just an amateur modder and was curious of how you tune a Ferrari's ECU.

Wow so you are starting from scratch, sounds ambitious! Best of luck to you and have fun doing it, of course please keep us posted of your progress.

    Thank you for telling :)

Been thinking about getting a GTR as the next addition to my collection, they are the best bang for the buck if you just want to go fast in a straight line. But if you want to actually drive I haven't been in anything yet that will bring a smile to your face like the 458 will do around the curves.

GTR is boring, too easy to tune.

Stick to your 458's plan :)

Titan Motorsports built the motor. Shep trans built the transmission. HP Logic installed, tuned and dynoed the car.

The car will run 8s at 160 mph + traps

Running 8s in 1/4 mile is pretty insane, are you selling the car?
