Some on the Macca site are claiming that La Ferrari has failed it's crash testing. Buller?? Ferrari should respond to these rumors before they take on a life of their own. Some on the Macca site are claiming that the production version of P1 will have 1000 hp and be even faster than previously announced. Macca should respond to these rumors before they take on a life of their won. Porsche has confirmed much more hp then initially announced. Time to run these puppy's around the Ring.
In terms of everyday driveablilty and service cost over time IMO you're buying the right one. The 918 as is could probably run a 24 at the Ring. I very much doubt any of the others could. Cheers
Funny - I was just over there for the first time in a while and read the same thing... These cars are both truly insane though....question - is the P1 selling well?
No 887 which is more than originally claimed. Getting more out of turbos is a lot easier than NA engines. I personally think Macca has more HP if they want to stress the engine a bit. Their MP12 seems to have found more over time.
918 does not look like ascari obviously but the front does look like a 360 which i would find bothersome if i was to own a 918
No actually I wouldn't! I swear on a stack of any religious books you can gather. I'd rather have an F12, 458, Enzo, Scuderia, F40, F50, 288 GTO, 599 GTO than a spanking new P1. It's an awesome car to be sure....but it just doesn't make me swoon the way most contemporary Ferraris do. Side note and off topic: I DROVE a Ferrari for the FIRST TIME recently! I've been a fan since childhood, I've studied the history, read the books and magazines, attended the car shows and the like. I have The Prancing Horse tattooed on my right shoulder! But in my over 48 years I've never had the chance to DRIVE a Ferrari until just a few weeks ago! It was a beautiful F430 at GingerMan Raceway in South Haven, Michigan. It was amazing! I drove it like I owned it and the instructor congratulated me on hitting my apexes so well! Special Thanks to the folks at Xtreme Xperience! I will be at it again as soon as possible! Price tag not being a factor, I think no one knows for sure if they like until they tried out the car.... any car...
If given 1,... I'd take the LaF. I wouldn't spend my money on any of them. Modern exotics and near exotics have so far eclipsed my driving abilities,... and the speeds required for them to feel exciting can not be reached safely or legally on public roads. Unless you are tracking them, they are for admiring and posing. Since I wouldn't track... I'd fall into this group. I hope those that buy these cars use them as intended. The majority of 2 of the 3 cars likely will. But very few of the third...
If the fact of the missing crash test is true I find it encouraging as it implies that they are working with very fine tolerances as in f1 where failed crash tests are fairly common. If same care applies to the rest of the car it'll be bonkers ...

Or they just ****ed up. The last thing you want on a road car is very fine tolerances. A car that is only works under the most ideal and precise conditions is the hallmark of a bad design.
A McLaren F1 recently sold for 8mm USD. Another will be auctioned at Gooding at Pebble. Some are guessing 10mm USD.
