Yes blacking out the sill accentuates the rear wheel "pontoon" look, also making the door shorter in height and the overall body slimmer, thus sexier.

Same idea as a slender girl with slim waist and curvy behind, very sexy!

Classic "Coke bottle" shape. Coca Cola knew what it was doing back in the day.

The rear tire looks wider to me too, the interesting thing is the rear tire sidewall either looks the same or actually a little shorter then today's 295/35.

In order to go wider without having a taller sidewall means the aspect ratio is dropping down to 30, with a 335 width, it does looks like a 325 but I don't think they would make it that wide on a 600hp car, they would go to 305~315 at best....but that sidewall looks taller then a 315/30/20. The 950 hp LaFerrari is only 345mm.

Or it could mean a 21" rear wheel.

To my eye both front and rears look like a lower profile than current 458. That suggests a 30 profile with 21" rims.

    Current front 235/35 20 = 26.48" overall dia.
    Possible front 245/30 21 = 26.79"

    Current rear 295/35 20 = 28.13" overall dia
    Possible rear 305/30 21 = 28.20

I was thinking about that too, but it doesn't really add up.

A bigger diameter wheel would make the same sidewall height looks shorter, but it would also make the width looks narrower.

So in order for a 21" wheel/tire to look wider then today's 295/35/20 with a similar sidewall height, it would really have to be a 335/30/21.........I guess it can be a 325/30/21 and looks like that.

I just don't think they would make it that wide when they only put 345mm on the LaFerrari.

The front sidewall definitely looks taller to me and the front wheel don't look any bigger then today's 20".

The rear wheel could be 21".

This car wheels and tires looks much more balance then today's 458 that actually looks like it got a smaller rear wheels then the front.

Another thing to keep in mind is the much more aggressive offset on this car's wheels, it does wonder on optical illusions.

My head is starting to hurt :(

Without thinking about logic, the rear looks like 325/30/20.

Another exciting feature is the one piece challenge grill that goes from taillight to taillight, no more center painted section. I guess that was expected.

    Nice find, thanks for posting.

Few things I (think) I notice:

    - Radiator exit in hood, P4/5-like
    - More pronounced rear spoiler
    - Full-width grille at back
    - Maybe deflector/winglet ahead of rear wheels
    - Aero-bridge off the front bumper (?)
    - Maybe an illusion, but rear fenders look to be wider, if not obviously flared
    - Double diffusers outboard rear

Similar, I think, though LaFer spokes are smooth on the outside (I-section spokes) while these look like H-section with slots are the outer extremities of the spokes.

Can't tell if they're center-lock on this car.

This car is prob using the same brakes as Laferr, the new Brembo Extrema, which were developed on a 458 mule and seen on pics of prototypes of this car.

This car must have zero trunk space up front. I don't think that matters but if there's a functional scoop there, there's ducting right in the way. Everyone is going with this aero idea though. The new Vette has it worked into the design with a new radiator that feeds to the center of the hood and travels over the center of the car.

So what do you guys think? Will there be a 458 Spider Scud version like the 16M in the past?

Certainly. But it won't be called the 17M unless Luca starts cracking at the team. :)

    Maybe... Maybe not.

    I personally would get back into a 458 for a "17m" version.

The Mayor and I meant "17M name", as in the 17th constructor's title in Formula 1.... (16M was the 16th win and they have not won that title since 2008)
