I'm American but "il conservatore" is my attempt at translating my job title into italian - I'm a conservator and mechanic/restorer for a car collection here in Ohio.

 

Ah, ok! Thank you very much. This winter i will try some attemps. here there is an excellent Ferrari specialist very cheap, Toni Auto, maybe he can help as i now learn it's the same wiper as the BB.

I believe you will need both the part circled and a wiper arm. You will need the circled part because it has been modified. I also believe you will need a wiper arm because it is made of the softer material and is more than likely worn out to the point that the bolt / nut bottoms out before the arm is tight enough on the taper. If you are creative it may be possible to rework the arm with a sleeve to restore its correct size without buying a new one.

The wiper blade is also an Arman & Co like the Countach uses.

Something else of interest - in this photo you can see that Lamborghini took an existing bracket and modified it for the CT - note how the Marelli logo on the metal plate was cut through and re-welded. Very creative

Here's a shot with the trim panel removed. I measured as closely as I could and it appears the BB arm is 3" overall length, while the CT arm is 3-1/4" long.

If you can get a BB wiper linkage arm, perhaps remove the splined shaft and weld it into the Countach arm.

I would have to defer to Iconservatore, since he has access to both of them. Looking at the drawings the only thing that stands out to me is the Countach has a wind defector on it where the BB does not. Triple X modified a wind deflector from a Mini to replace the one he was missing.

Does anyone know the mass market car that lent its push type park, headlight,hazard,fog light, and fan switches to the 5000 and QV Countach?

 

Hi Jim, actually mine never came with a wind deflector. If it did it would have had holes in the arm which mine did not.

It took me a few hours to perfect mine. (no drill holes) it's clipped on snug where it wont come off.

That one pic above gives me nightmares every time I look at that area.

You have no idea the hell I went thru to get that wee little hose back on the driver's side washer. I had to basically take everything apart.

We solved the problem using a simple cotter pin.

I was told the piece is available at the spare part service, but you need a whole new arm and the full motor assembly, more or less 1400 USD (!!). One day if that cotter pin will break down, i will buy the whole assembly, but i hope that day is far away

Need some guidance...see pic. I am at the stage where we are going to add the caulking within the seams on the body. In doing the rear taillight bezels, I am wondering if the caulking continues on the bottom seam of the rear panel (see green arrow). Can anyone enlighten me? Thx.

Yes, it continues, but thinner than around the rear lights.

I would say Fiat from same period.
Could also be Alfa or Lancia.
Maybe there are some Alfisti here that know more?

 

For carbed cars: What additive(s) do you add to prevent gumming and varnish.

I drive a few miles 2x a month. I use Stabil before storing. However ,I have driven when there is no salt on the road.
I'd like to add something more often.

The problem is the fuel is in there for longer periods of time than I would like. I could drain on occasion but that's a pain.

 

If you are driving every couple weeks, the fuel in the carbs is being kept "fresh". Keep the tanks full, avoid gas containing ethanol (if possible), add Stabil, I don't know what more you can do.

 

lol Tim, is there gas without ethanol these days?
It's seasonal here I believe or it use to be.

 

Given that you’re driving it a couple times a month I think you’re over thinking it.

 

Probably but I have yet to put gas in it this year. My thinking is not to fill up. Just a 1/3 or 1/2 at a time.....keeping gas newer.

 

use VP vintage gas and you will not any issues.
