Top gear laptimes are a joke. Different drivers, different days, different conditions and most importantly, McLaren was developed on that track. You also know how Pagani cheated there. Not a reliable metric that one.

So true realzeus! I also cannot believe that The Stig is only one man and I also know that 12C time was made on bonedry track with Schumacher driving. My english freind was watching when the 458 time was made, track condition was terrible, torrential rains made slick track condition, little grip, Rossi driving, so unfair. And yes, Mclaren was developed on this track to! A other freind in Ferrari development say to me that 12C on simulator is 1.7 second faster then 458 at Fiorano. What??

Hey, you, old punks, there is already a subforum about the 458 with lots of MP4whatever talk too. Why don´t you go there to keep thrashing each other and stop derailing (again) this thread?

...I think you´ve not been folowing this thread since the beginning. 90% of the content is not related. For some strange reason, even there are some photos of Frank Langella around here.

Plus, for a kid (relatively) like me it´s quite a funny to see grown up men behaving like teenagers, asking others if they´re drunk, etc...

So you should relax a little bit too.

she was right, the missing element for the 458 was the sabine factor.

met her when i was up there with you jim and she is as friendly as she looks. and she can drive that track like nobody else (well maybe a handful of others are quicker ;) ). hell she drove a delivery van round in about 9 seconds!!

No Ron is a very good driver. He runs the race school at The Ring and Spa. The GT3 RS is faster than a stock 458 at the Ring especially with KN shocks. The race 458's had a very poor showing at The Ring this year.

They both said it was the driver that made the difference as Ron didn't know the car at all.

Yawn. The 458's were so slow in practice in 2012 they didn't even race. In 2013 they were a disaster.

We look forward to racing all of them in 2015.

That is as relevant as the fact that the Ferrari F1 team is slower than the Red Bull team!!!

    Man, not this again, pleease.

A Z4 GT3 can be faster around the ring than your beloved P4, but I'm pretty sure that you wouldn't swap your car for a standard Z4.

Ah, but Redbull could always start building cars for the street, just like McLaren has.;)

They might start by making their X2012 concept a reality and blow both Ferrari and McLaren away with its vacuum traction. The only problem is that their system wouldn't work. There is another system, however, that will.

Ferrari, Porsche and McLaren have all publicly claimed that they will be under 7 minutes at The Ring.

    That remains fact.

As of today all of them are bench racing. None have gotten below 7 minutes with their La Ferrari, 918, or P1. The fact that all of them publicly stated where they will be at The Ring shows while some of you may not care where these cars will be at The Ring Ferrari, Porsche and McLaren do.

Neither Ferrari or McLaren, unlike Porsche have ever won The 24 Hour of Nurburgring.

    That remains fact as well.

So agree and so boring. Can we just leave the Nring alone until the is some real news. I started a thread bout the whole Nring debate so as to hopefully clean up this thread so that when I came to it I would find news about these cars.

Its a good thing I remembered that Ferrari has managed to win races at other circuits in its history.

I was beginning to think they should pack it up and fold because a 458 failed to beat Sabine in a Porsche around the Ring and there aren't a few dozen LaFerrari running up the hill at Goodwood!

I was sad for a second there...

James, Come on..Your argument has no validity. Yes the 458 didnt do well at the ring. But look around on other tracks. Just this week end it won at the Brickyard. 15 days ago, it won at the Red Bull Ring..etc. So the flagged dropped and the BS stopped.

A 24 at The Ring is the most brutal 24 Endurance Race on the Planet. The only road car that has done well there is from Porsche. The 430/458's chassis come apart there.

Still waiting for Ferrari, Porsche and McLaren to stop bench racing and show that they can be under 7 minutes on the Ring.

You seem the only one so obsessed with endurance racing, especially at the Ring. F, M, and P stated their target times for the Ring; they didn't say their cars were made to run there all day long. Also, F has won just about everything the past 3 years with the 458.

I mean this as no offense but cant someone just ban Jim from this thread? Its never positive input..never..we come into this thread to see pictures and learn more info about LaFerrari..not to hear about Jim's arguments that belong in an entirely different thread
