When i press the button to lock the car i hear the sound of the lock mechanism, alarm is activated but doors stay unlocked. My dealer told me that there is something wrong with the locking wire. Is this an easy fix?

Careful with this one...I could be either door lock causing the issue. It could be one of the cables, could be a microswitch, or it could be the entire door lock actuator assembly. I bet its a streatched cable, the one from the outer door handle to the actuator.

Had similar thing happen to mine the other week. Mine turned out to be a stretched wire from outer handle to the lock mechanism. I pulled on it but only opened it half way.. so wouldn't lock.. Is still kinda wonky.. Who knows what's happening IN the mechanism itself.

Ha..., same happening to mine. It tries to lock, and then unlocks.

I might pull it apart tomorrow and see how it all works.

what year 360? early ones had some door lock concerns with mechanism or rods to actual latch assemblies. start there. (check angle of door lock lever on inner door handles) see if they are close to same..

Thanx. Mine is a 2000. I am having trouble opening the door from the outside from time to time. Bought, checked the inner wire, but it was all ok. It turn out to be the inside doorhandle being too tight and not releasing the mechanisme. Probably do to the sticky handle!!!
I will double check everything once more.

I have the same issue, mine occurred after I removed the door card to put new speakers in a few months ago. I rarely lock my car any way when in town since I leave the windows down so not too much of a concern but I would love to fix as I leave the car in the parking lot at work for 9 hours daily (I figure with the windows up, it "looks" lock so no one tries anything and if they do the alarm will sound anyway).

I assume in my case it has to do with the cable since i played with the adjustment when i had the door card off, it should be a easy fix

Did you guys get the locking issue fixed by any chance? If so- what was the trick?

    Yes, I did.
I went to my local independent Ferrari workshop and asked him to look at it. I was happy to replace the lock and cables, at least hat way it's all nice and fresh.

It turned out that the lock was malfunctioning, and it all works perfectly now.
Incidentally, the local Ferrari dealership quoted nearly 3 times (yes, 3 times) the amount that was charged by my local guy.
