    I saw what I think was a 500 TRC in Newport Beach California today. Can anyone confirm if that is the correct model and if the car is real? I am dying to know. Thanks!

    Looked up #2423 from the plate -- Supposedly a 250 GTE with TRC rebody so I guess that's it. Possibly Drogo?

    The history of 2423 GT is a mess, but it appears that the chassis from the car got a fake Drogo body and was in the US a while ago, so it may be this one. At the same time, a real Drogo body, got the real 2423 GT engine and had a custom chassis stamped with that number; last seen in Germany in 1999. Two replicas, same number.

    Would the number on the plate necessarily have anything to do with the chassis number though? Sorry for my dumb questions.

    This definitely is fake 2423. DK-Engineering scrapped maybe 10 GTEs to build these kit cars that are freely based upon the design 500TRC with the major exception that a real 500 TRC is a beautiful car.

    I have no idea what the police would say about driving with a home made fantasy register plate.
