Now the speculation begins until the official private unveilings in hockenheim and
The public one in Frankfurt in September, what do you guys think?

I love the fact they went with the same exhaust set up as the 430 Scud....basically we're looking at taped up rear diffuser/ exhaust, stripes, and some front end treatment.....perfect

Great comparison photo jeff! I actually think that the triple exhaust layout looks far more aggressive than the twin exhaust, they should have kept the triple layout idea and done a variant on it,

Ps if one didn't know it the Italia in the pic would seem like the most powerful version of the car...

also I am not sure I like the central painted stripe idea on the 458 model, looks good on the 430 but I prefer monochrome on the 458, jut mt 0.02 :)

I tend to agree about the triple exhaust; it is distinctive and aggressive. But the dual pipes are a nice nod to the F430 Scuderia

On the stripe, much depends on how it is done. I think the F430 Scuderia stripe was subtle and not overcooked.

All in all the photos raise more questions than they answer.

The front bumper/mustach is the only portion of the 458 I don't like. This will likely take care of that. Just like the scud and the 430. This 458 version will be the fix it needed.

Won't be the first time. Last year I posted a picture of the LaFerrari prototype. It went much quicker over the web without a watermark on the picture. I thought it would be nice this time to put his name in. The fact that is all over the web is an experience for him. We are unpacking. Maybe I can find some more pics with better details.

more pics would certainly be appreciated.....with watermark of course!

    thanks again

Another thing is the rear of the prototype I already posted the pictures. May be I did not read all your comments well but the grill seems to run from left to right. There is no red / carbon any more in the middle. In the second photo there is some sun light going through the grill. It is hard to see what's behind.

In the morning the devil tried to squeeze by behind my back. I managed to make a picture over the front. You can definitely see a change there. When I tried to make the three quarter front view lighter the two holes in the front remained one black box. I am afraid it will remain a mistery for about forty days.

The last change that seems to be real is just before the rear wheels. There is certainly more material applied. The other two proto's have the "normal" 458 side.

I posted these pictures without any mark. The pictures of my son were marked because for a 13 year old like he is, it is nice to see your pictures go all over the web and he kan tell his friends about it. In the end I like to read and view pictures of other people on the web as well. I see it as an opportunity to share and make new friends with a similar interest. Hope you enjoy.

Thank you again for making the time and effort to post the photos. It does seem that your 13 year old son is having a good time with this.

The new photos appear to confirm a lower profile tire, at least that is my reading of it. As suggested earlier, the wheels could very well be 21 inches. Of course this does not mean that these wheels and tires will be on the actual production model. But they do look good.

They also confirm the existence of two small slats in front of each front wheel well. We cannot discern their function.

I also can't figure out the function of the appendage in front of the rear wheel well, which seems to jut out of where the sill used to be. Of course the camouflage could be "packed" there to throw us off. We will need to wait to find out.

The wheels look somewhat hard to clean...inside the spokes...if those are the new wheels that is.

Wheels look amazingly light. Is that raised trunk lid spoiler I see? Maybe my eyes deceiving me

What are those holes beside the headlights? They look larger than the ones on the normal version.

I thought the same thing about the rear lip being larger more spoiler effect for downforce. Thinking the slits in front of the front wheel wells are aero bridges may also be used for brake cooling. The prominence in front of rear wheel wells may also be functional cooling for brakes or additional air to the engine. Does appear there are fasteners on the rear hatch engine compartment for a composite plexi cover instead of glass for weight savings.

The rear looks a little wider, but it may be the upturned spoiler that creates that appearance.

Agreed on the wheels. They look great.
