This may be the wrong thread to post this spotting, but caught this nice Jag E-Type (I believe) around 2 o'clock this afternoon at the Embassy Suites Park Central, Central Exwy & LBJ Frwy, in north Dallas.

Now, THAT baby is just COOOOLLLLL ! ! ! Looks like non-Texas plates.

    CTS-V observation/question:
On my way back around lunchtime, from checking 400GT progress in Keller, a blacked-out CTS-V was behind me in the sucky traffic that is I-35......and I noticed what looked like cage tubes tab-welded to the A-pillars. Checked this out for several slow miles, including moving over to the next lane for a different angle.
What kind of beast do we have hiding amongst us? I want to know.

The rear plate is legit, Texas Come and Take It. The front not sure but they both mention UTE so I assume that's a reference to Holden.

Front is a German/Euro-style that you can order from several places, implying that it's an "ultimate Sports-Utility". Pretty clever, and apt.

I recognize that the rear window is the glass/frame, 1/4 windows, and trim from an Avant (wagon) hatch, likely from its Allroad origin. Looks like it was well-done.
I'd like to see this one.

That car changed hands at Gooding Pebble Beach in 2006 for $1.375 million! Amazing to see it on the road

Is this a private collection? Or a dealer open to public?

That link has a ton of great/rare vehicles listed with detailed descriptions.

Private only, I've seen a few of his cars around my area & at some shows. One of his cars in his collection won best of show at Pebble Beach last year.

The front fender mounted machine gun is a nice touch as well.

Forgot to post this one, found it last weekend in Highland Park Village:

The Great Gatsby | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
The Great Gatsby | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

From what I can tell this is the exact Rolls-Royce from the 1974 version of 'The Great Gatsby'. Even though there are a few changes from when it was last photographed, I compared a few imperfections and it seems to match. Anybody have any more information?

That's actually a first generation (1970-77) Toyota Celica. They're relatively uncommon.
