It may be true, ferrari has approached Kimi. Nothing about replacing Alonso, but massa has to go. (I like massa, by the way, its just time) just saying. Why does everyone think Alonso is being replaced?

I believe that Kimi will be leaving Lotus. That leaves Red Bull and Ferrari, with the most likely stop being Red Bull. However, Kimi has stated that he holds no hard feelings for Ferrari and that he enjoyed his time there.

Silly Season 2013 could be epic.

I interpreted Kimi's statement to say that he is staying with Lotus. Everyone expects him to go to RBR.

Having said that I wish he does go to RBR and gives finger man the competition he truloy deserves

So here's how I see it.

There are 4 top teams right now- RB, Merc, Ferrari, Lotus.

Of those, Lotus has the least staying power. So no one would pick them ahead of the others.

Merc is a lock out- no seats available.

So that leaves number 2 driver at either Ferrari or RB.

We all know that at Ferrari, number 2 really means that. No equality. Guaranteed. So no way Kimi would want that. I don't think he has a problem mixing it with other fast drivers, but I don't think he does 'team orders'.

So... His only real options are RB number 2, knowing that he'll at least get a chance to be equal early in the season, or stay at Lotus, or leave.

Massa has been the #1 driver at Ferrari before (during Kimi's stay). The only guarantee is that the driver ahead in points at the right time will be declared the #1 driver and that's not the case with just Ferrari.

I cannot see Ferrari ever taking Kimi back, just a few years after paying him off to leave and take a sabbatical.
Strange things have happened at the Scuderia, but I don't expect them to revisit that era.

I cannot see Kimi fitting at Red Bull either, and I am not sure that the "consultant" Marko would approve of the Finn next to his protégé.

Lotus is the best bet for Kimi, in my book, and the kind of atmosphere he likes, cool and relaxed, but meaning business at the same time. The Enstone team has the capability to beat bigger team on a smaller budget too: twice with Schumacher and twice with Alonso. .

I tend to agree, however I have given up predicting driver moves since the Hamilton move totally blind sided me, of course now it all makes sense.

Bernie tends to be the mover and shaker behind moves, EJ his mouth piece.

The bigger news than this was that when Kimi read this BS, he actually smiled.

You have to ask yourself what was the biggest blunder LDM made. In reverse order it's

    3) forcing Kimi out

    2) letting Schumacher go

    1) letting Ross Brawn go.

Kimi comes in a distant third.

No he didn't, McLaren gifted it to Ferrari.

The only thing Kimi and Ferrari had going for them that season was luck.

Kimi knows how Ferrari works because he's been there and the #1 Ferrari driver is the fastest driver that can put up the results. Preferential treatment follows results.

Well, it's "silly season", isn't it? No races till the end of August (admited, that one is the best one of the year) so we are free to speculate wildly.
So yes, as for myself, I would have indeed "more of the same": one more season of Hamilton - Alonso pairing; that would be fun to watch.
But actually no chances at all for all of this to happen: the final outcome of all this will be a big "mexican standoff": Kimi will stay at Lotus, Fernando at Ferrari (with Massa riding shotgun as usual); Ricciardo will take the seta at Red Bull and "that's all, folks"!

I don't think Massa will be at Ferrari next year. Hulk will get his seat.
